Nwoko confirms Iron interest

Valletta winger Kyrian Nwoko has confirmed reports that Scunthorpe United are interested in bringing him to the club in January.

The Iron’s chief scout Lee Turnbull was in attendance as Nwoko scored a late equaliser for Malta U21’s in a 1-1 draw with Cyprus on Tuesday, and it is suggested the Iron are closing in on his signature.

“I am aware of the reports about me. I can confirm that what is written is true, but I cannot elaborate beyond that,” he told the Times of Malta.

Nwoko has scored eight goals and made three assists in 40 games for Valletta, but has found chances limited this term following the arrival of Bojan Kaljevic.
