MK Dons boss informs players of future ahead of Scunthorpe game

MK Dons boss Robbie Neilson has held meetings with his out of contract players to inform them of their future ahead of Good Friday’s clash with Scunthorpe United.

The Dons have pulled clear from the relegation zone following a good run of form and having secured League One safety, Neilson has met with his players on Wednesday to discuss whether they would be offered new contracts or be allowed to leave on a free transfer basis.

David Martin, captain Dean Lewington, Darren Potter, Daniel Powell, Ben Reeves, Dean Bowditch and Nicky Maynard are first teamers with deals set to expire this summer.

“We’re speaking to some today to progress things,” Neilson said.

“We’ll keep it in house for now. People will come, people will go. I’ve made up my mind on everyone.”
