Iron looking to strengthen ahead of Swindon

United are still looking to strengthen their squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to Swindon Town, according to assistant manager Ned Kelly.

Left back Scott Laird is suspended after picking up five bookings, whilst Charlie Goode and Scott Wiseman were both substituted in the FA Cup win over Southend with injuries.

“We are looking into things and trying to organise a few bits and bobs, but we have managed nothing as of yet,” Kelly told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

Meanwhile, Tommy Rowe is back in contention after being denied permission by parent club Wolves to play in the FA Cup.

“Tommy Rowe did some work back at Molineux last week and has come back nice and bright so it will be good to have him back”.
