Iron look at McGugan in behind closed doors game

Iron Bru understand that former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Lewis McGugan is currently on trial with the club.

It is understood that Iron boss Stuart McCall is taking a look at the player in a behind closed doors game with Grimsby Town at Glanford Park this afternoon.

McGugan, 30, has been without a club since leaving Northampton Town last January.

  1. If he is fit and his attitude looks good then I’d like to see him drafted in to cover Matt Lund’s absence.
    This has been one seriously good player – just so long as he isn’t ‘a has been’.
    As a non-contract player he could be offered a short contract with a view to something more permanent.
