Iron fan set for 57 mile charity walk

Scunthorpe fan Chris Walker will set out on the 57 mile trip to Glanford Park from his home town of Bradford this morning, ahead of the Iron’s crucial League One match with Bradford at Glanford Park.

Chris is fundraising for primary and secondary schools in Zimbabwe, where he used to work as a teacher.

The decision to raise funds came about following a holiday in Zimbabwe in September 2018, when he paid his first visit to the school since 1992. He was moved by the very warm welcome from the school & local community and wanted to give something back.

There is a particular need for computers at the school which would help the students immensely.

In order to fund his project he has now set up the following:

Website:         http://friendsofpakati.com
Twitter:           http://twitter.com/friendsofpakati
Facebook:     http://facebook.com/Friends-of-pakati
Email:             [email protected]
Gofundme:    http://gofundme.com/friends-of-pakati

Chris is also collecting and football shirts that are no longer needed to send out to the kids at the school, so if you have any shirts you no longer use or want then please bring them down to Trust corner before the  Bradford game.

You can listen to Chris’ interview with Iron Bru below.

Good luck Chris!
