Scunthorpe United look set to be without midfield duo Matthew Lund and Josh Morris for sometime as a result of injuries picked up during the Peterborough match.
Lund was the first to be inured, following a collision with Dembele shortly before the build up to the second goal. Speaking to Radio Humberside after the match Stuart McCall confirmed that Lund will ‘go for an x-ray on his ankle/tibia’ and though Scunthorpe will need to wait for results to come through, ‘it’s not looking good.’
Shortly afterwards Josh Morris too picked up an injury when he suffered what is believed to be a fractured jaw. Speaking on this injury McCall said that ‘we’ll have to wait for the x-rays, but that (it) could be four-to-six weeks. It’s bad enough losing the game but when you lose two influential players… for a number of weeks, it stretches an already thin squad.’
These new injuries follow on from the recent injury to Ike Ugbo, who has temporarily returned to his parent club of Chelsea to undergo medical treatment, and of course the long term injury that is keeping goalkeeper Matt Gilks out of the squad.
