Scunthorpe United have announced George Dixon as the club’s new Head of Recruitment.
George has most recently been working at West Ham under the management of Sam Allardyce and joins the Iron having turned down another job opportunity in the Premier League.
“I’m over the moon. This is my next project going forward. I’ve joined a club which has a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer who are both very ambitious and a club with a very good young manager in Graham Alexander”, Dixon told the official website.
“I’ve only seen good things. The fans are the most important people in football and I was taken aback at how much Mr Swann thinks about the supporters and is building for the future and for the fans.”
Iron boss Graham Alexander commented: “He’s done a bit of work for us during the last few weeks and his CV speaks for itself.
“He’s worked with Sam Allardyce and various others over the years and has come highly recommended. I’ve had dealings with him over the last three or four weeks and he’s been excellent and the work he’s produced for us has been superb.
“There were a massive number of applicants, as you’d expect – as it a very good job at a very good club.”
