Paul Hurst is in advanced talks to become the new Scunthorpe United manager, according to BBC Radio Humberside.
Hurst been heavily linked with the managerial role at Glanford Park since the sacking of Stuart McCall in March.
Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Hurst taking charge of the Iron and the latest prices quoted would suggest his appointment is imminent. He is now as low as 1/20 to be next permanent Scunthorpe boss, however you can still find value by taking advantage of all the latest betting offers today.
It is not yet known whether Hurst will bring in his own backroom staff, which leaves the future of caretaker manager Andy Dawson hanging in the balance.
If the former Grimsby and Shrewsbury boss does appoint his own backroom team, he is likely to turn to former Nottingham Forest defender Chris Doig who has assisted Hurst at his last three clubs.
Hurst, who has also attracted the interest of fellow League Two side Plymouth Argyle, has been out of work since Ipswich sacked him in October.
