A new shorter episode deals with that age old philosophical question, ‘are monkeys bastards?’. If I find out I’ll report back.

Finished this long episode on Sam Harris last week. It takes a look at a recent interview he did with British podcaster Chris Williamson. Pretty fair on Harris I think and relatively respected. Peterson and Tate get mentioned. And the piss taking re Williamsons choice of phrasing made me laugh…better than ‘a kick in the dick’ anyway…

Can’t see the matter of new parenthood as the possible reason for Clunan’s drop in performance being brought up in interviews any time soon.

See the group is having a collective meltdown again. I’m bemused and amused. What baffles me most is that some seem to think ‘United We Stand’ means everyone has to think the same and no one should have a different opinion on footballing matters. They’re missing a fundamental point of a forum – kicking about different ideas and views. Someone slags someone else, it all kicks off and someone else will post the equivalent of ‘calm down, calm down la!’, rinse and repeat. ‘Grandma Alexander’ made me laugh though.

I recall it but not sure where. Could have been Rochdale.

    Corden had a bit of a rep didn’t he…

‘In February 2005, he moved on to Brian Laws’ Scunthorpe United,[9] following a row with Mansfield manager Carlton Palmer.’

Laws was thinking, ‘I’ll give you a row son, get over ‘ere’!

Agree with most of that though not sure about Ogle being top notch. Compared to many around him he was relatively okay but not that good.

‘Despite our faults, Tamworth are by far and away the best side I’ve seen this year. Very much reminiscent of a number of national league sides I saw us against last year’

Can’t say fairer than that. Nearly everything about them was right. Set up, tactics, confidence, game plan, attitude, movement, passing, etc. If they go up as expected they may fare well with the nucleus of that squad. Whether we go up or not, and regardless of the financial necessity, our squad needs a rebuild, with a clear strategy

Ha ha, Corden v Laws, that’s a blast from the past! Kicked off with him near the dugout didn’t he?

‘Utter dross like most of the games in this league.’

I watch quite a lot of Counties level games. Quality wise, it’s way lower obviously but you can still identity utter dross performances and excellent ones. That was an utter dross performance last night, whichever league level you’re at!

I thought Torps was being over optimistic about the remainder of the season at the end. Didn’t sound like he believed himself. I didn’t. Expecting us to win both games in hand and Tamworth to drop 6 is a tall ask. Though you never know.

‘our style needs twerking’. Would certainly liven things up!

How can Dean think before the red card we were ‘edging it’ on ‘6/10’? Tamworth were worth 7/10 all night.

sadly its in their hands too – they’ll come here under no pressure – draw will be enough, never mind nicking a 1-0 win

Not sure about them being under no pressure. It’s tough at the top. The thought of sacrificing points, having the gap reduced and squandering all that good work will come with it’s own pressure. This is the sort of subliminal messaging we need them to hear. Make em over think it. Time for the mind games. Let’s have em losing it like Keegan.

    This aged well…

Ditto. National league stream it is. Hopefully the match isn’t disrupted by a groundswell of protests about some bloke with a camera. Arf.

Michelle and the Board are working towards sustainability awaywego. They’ve a good track record on business and clearly understand what needs to be done. I’ll take their word over yours though agreed achieving league status is the ambition

There’s an assumption there was just one maybe two complaints but they have no idea how many complaints there have been. What sort of forum is it where the moderators delete sensible and justifiable observations but leave the abusive ones up and fuel a pile on? Same as it ever was. Like that during the Hilton era and the same now. No lessons learned, no humility, no grace. Sad.
