Rubbish that. Don’t know enough about this particular situation but I suspect the Council will be responding to residents concerns and complaints more than anything. Happens a lot at that level. NIMBY killjoys.

Is J Charles still around?
Did he? Certainly not seen that.
‘Almost’ I said. You can always contact a representative sample of supporters from other NLN clubs and prove me wrong.
True, but I’ve also seen some that are, one of the worst pro Hilton abusers at it with homophobia. The Venn diagram post wasn’t intended as a science btw.

Venn diagram time on X again. Hilton disciples and ref abusers. Some noticeable culprits in that there middle bit.
‘Another season in this quagmire and we’ll all go mad!’ I think almost every other NLN club wants us promoted. As in gone.
Agree with all that. It’s one thing being rightly critical of the match referee between ourselves as supporters but not going to do us any favours whatsoever these advanced actions mentioned above. Some need to think more about the consequences of their actions, and that applies to the stuff in the effin and jeffin thread too. Turning into a poundshop Millwall. Maybe an exaggeration but certainly the ‘no one likes us we don’t care’ attitude.

What you mean blokes pushing 60 not wanting to risk getting battered by a load of drunk (quite possibly coked up too nowadays) fitter youths / young men? Get real! I’ve already said I’ve made remarks in the past and got punched for it. Maybe time for younger guys who heal quicker and better to start saying something? Or better still, for the perpetrators to learn some respect and civility? Too much coke and drink flying about these days, as frequently glorified or humoured on the Facebook page.
‘I have risked many a chinning,I’m not exactly hard, to tell a drunk yob and or racists to shut it.’
I’ve risked it numerous times over the years with a few black eyes and bruises as a consequence. Too old to be getting my head kicked in these days so mainly avoid the risk if it looks like it has the potential to head that way. Not on though is it. Where’s the respect gone?
Doubt he’ll be apologising. Complaining about the abuse he’s had and criticism on the club’s X account is more likely based on what other referees are saying about it all
The authorities responsible for officials at that level need to start withdrawing labour. Let's see how Scunthorpe complete their fixtures without a referee. The culture towards officials in this country needs to change

‘i was just trying to make a suggestion of a way to stop fans thinking referring mistakes are deliberate which may help quell the conspiracy theories.’
Like the one below?
‘That ref last night is supposed top be based in Lancashire and who are 4th, Chorley also based in Lancashire ?. It does make you wonder whether bias played a part.’
It is possible to be critical of more than one aspect of a match (I.e. both a manager and a referee).

Think I’ve been misunderstood by some on here. I’m making a point about incessant swearing throughout the match and grown men ought to be doing better. I’m not advocating nunneries for terraces and it’s not breaking my heart, honestly. Still think it’s a good conversation to be having. And it does raise other good points. Recall being in the seats at an away match once with a ‘female’ (adopts awaywego bantz). All going well until a group of bladdered yobs arrived with the usual swearing and bravado. One demanded that we stand up ‘if you love Scunthorpe’. Told him do one and promptly got surrounded by his mates making threats. Yeah, we moved. Nice eh? Great fix that. Cheers!

Thanks Apollo. . Never thought of that!
There you go you heard far worse in school Deerey, why do you expect any different away from school i don’t.
Er, because we’re not 15-16 year olds anymore? Because the people who are the worst culprits are grown men, apparently? Not rocket science. Of course I expect to hear some swearing at matches. I don’t think we need to hear it incessantly throughout the match so loud. It’s a bad influence on younger folk and children and frankly tedious and distracting. Trying to watch a match with some idiot shouting and swearing near you throughout, or coming over on the speaker, is rubbish. Don’t know what you don’t understand about the point I’m making tbh. But hey ho.
‘Must get out more? You’re having a laugh mate. I probably heard far worse in school. Do you just accept everything that evolves throughout life with a ‘whatevs?’ shrug? Clearly you don’t given what you do find worth making a point about on here. Lol, ‘Get out more’. The irony.
You really must get out more Deerey, swearing and abuse at a footy game whatever next, swearing is common day language nowadays whether you like it or not.
So I make that 3 out of 4 off the iron hour podcast alone who swear on a regular basis get over it.Unsurprisingly you fail to grasp the point someone is making. Yet again.

If that is the case he should be publicly apologising. Still, there seems to be a cohort who do it, apologise but it keeps happening. I wonder why? Call themselves ‘men’? Narcissistic blow hards. Get a grip and set a good example!

Yeah, I think that’s fair to say.
It was always a very real possibility that would be the case. If we don’t get out of it we can’t be blaming the officials and other clubs pitches and supposed bias against us. Though I suspect some will.
Correction – not his personal email address, a Lancashire FA organisational one.
Unfortunately Scunthorpe fans shouting “you’re not fit to referee”, “you’re an embarrassment” or “f-ing wanker” only turns him against us more!
As may emailing him directly because his email address has been posted online, as some appear to be doing. What positive things do they think this will achieve? If supporters are unhappy with the standard of refereeing they should be emailing the governing body not him directly.
‘Even so, I am witnessing bias on a very regular basis. I suspect that the situation is that the ‘little guys deserve a break against big spending Scunny’. I fully accept that this is rarely deliberate – but ‘subconscious bias’ is an identifiable phenomenon.’
The referee’s decision was appalling, as I said at the time on another thread. Probably the worst I’ve seen even down to step 5, but to say you are witnessing bias on a regular basis requires much more evidence, as you should well know. It may well be the case there’s some bias going on, but saying you’re witnessing it regularly is unsubstantiated. You’re also implying it was the case last night. Where’s your evidence, because all I saw was incompetence.
Not seen a worse decision at step 5 let alone step 2.
Literally getting robbed of 2 points here
Should be 1-1 though
‘Of course, we have to get there first…’
‘Visitors to this site must piss themselves laughing on how thick some of our fans are.’
They will when they see posters using ‘on’ when ‘at’ is the correct preposition.

But it’ll be either/or down the RHS won’t it? McAlinden, Beestin and the 2 loanees for the LHS.
Selection is down to the Royal Horticultural Society? Thought they’d been stood down now Dean’s not taking gardening leave?
