The Euro’s?
Bit early for an afternoon nap!

April 5, 2024 at 5:49 pm in reply to: University research on the role of football in response to military conflict #283711I don’t class Engerland not being in the World Cup or Euro’s as a fallow year. I’d enjoy them if they weren’t in it just as much tbh.
April 5, 2024 at 9:51 am in reply to: University research on the role of football in response to military conflict #283704I love a tournament summer. Hate fallow years.
Lol, Rene in scattergun mode, hoping one may hit a target.
Who is then and what are they being fooled about? Some solid evidence would be useful because it appears you’re just having a go at snot for the sake of it and you shouldn’t be surprised he appears to be losing his patience in posts.
It was made clear in the summer the manager selected the players, and continues to do so.
He won’t be next season though, you’ll be impressed with who will be though.
Can’t see what you’re confused about I-A and awaywego
Free legged by the sound of it!
Can’t be worse than v Warrington can it? Thought the RH commentary was okay yesterday. Tried syncing up NLTV footage and RH commentary but the latter is predictably about a minute ahead of the footage.
Absolutely. Which makes it all the more baffling why awaywego previously and often advocates that club owners need to spend beyond the club’s means to get on. Or have I missed something awaywego?

Certainly some odd posts over there. Too many Easter eggs, decamped to Germany or auditioning for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
‘Thick or what’. Though you say the same about this side.
Big difference being County’s owner really does have deep pockets and isn’t a fraudster. Problem will be if and when he decides to stop bankrolling them and what financial state the club may be left in. Swann anyone?

Stockport County lost £4.5m in League Two in 22/23. Losses were funded by loans from owner company. These loans of almost £6m were subsequently written off by being converted into shares pic.twitter.com/0yuOlKEVLn

I’m trying to eat more fruit and nuts. Apparently they’re very good for you. Certainly better than goat burgers
Coincidental but interesting thread on this theme. Certainly some interesting comments, particularly the ones about money laundering…

That’s true. Not limited to footballers either. I did wonder who was advising some of them at the time but shelved it.

‘That being said, I also think it can’t be ignored that Hilton persuaded a bunch of players to drop down a division or two presumably in return for a hefty wage, so you wonder what that says about some of those players?’
Doesn’t say any more to me other than that it’s a short career and they took an opportunity to get paid a very good wage while they could. Not like they’re mercenaries moving to Saudi. They were also presumably sold Hilton’s BS, as many were.

They weren’t all excellent reviews. Many were but others were less complimentary. One supporter even said on camera his burger was soggy.
March 30, 2024 at 11:54 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #283493Or it’s simply a case of revising prices sensibly after Mr Incompetent and Mr Fraud?
We’ll see awaywego. Not sure how I’m being fooled given I know Jack! I’m the biggest mushroom on Bru. Always the last to know anything. I have to get ahead of myself occasionally as I’m so far behind everyone else.

£7k seems a lot but the Club has to maximise profits, and if they can sell them for £7k it makes sense to. Can see how it would irk existing box holders though.

Oh, I see. Well, it will all come out in the wash I suppose.
And Dean’s taking us through the playoffs? Didn’t bode well before. Certainly doesn’t if he knows he is being replaced and by who.

“We” had no choice in the matter on whether he continued or not.
Are you seriously suggesting the club would be in a better position had Hilton stayed?
Didn’t see the game today but surely one has to wonder why good players for this level frequently become bad or average here under Dean; watch players flourish once they’ve left and do the maths?

Secret ballot in our election for a reason, Deerey. Abuse of those with different political views always a threat.
Aye. Always the threat of some right wing Christian evangelist hassling me on my supposed neo-Marxist liberal elite ‘worldview’. Ha ha.
Happy to tell you …in this ‘safe space’ where my following statement is unlikely to ‘trigger’ an ideologue activist .. that I’m not keen on the Tories. They won’t be getting my vote.
Thank goodness for that. They’re despicable.
My ‘hunch’ above was only a tongue in cheek observation of 64s relentless postings to try to generate some interest in a forum that, as predicted, has narrowed down to a hard-core who pretty well share the same outlook on a range of issues.
Not true. I don’t share many of the same views as those on here i should imagine and vice versa.
Hope that doesn’t elicit too much outrage … though the mere presence of my moniker on a post now seems to be a red red to Gurney et al, no matter what pearls of wisdom I am sharing. JI is the new Bucks … as well as Les of course.
Okay Cassandra.
ps On a train from Leeds to London and a bit bored. That’s my excuse.:)
Safe journey mate. Enjoy the smoke.

Who IS keen on the Tories JI? Are you?
Agree with you to an extent awaywego re other clubs welcoming more income. Don’t they have to pay for extra stewarding and policing though?
I’d imagine a lot of orher clubs supporters will be happy for us to be gone from NLN particularly with this ‘big club / refs hate us’ crap. That said, many will want us to fail too of course.
