Just been reading the article. Yes, very good piece.
Bumped in to Sergio Aguero at the local garage a few years back. Surely he can manage at this level? And he’s a really nice guy so he ticks most the boxes.
Agree with Siderite; just find the ‘stay classy’ suggestion a bit rich given previous circumstances. I can understand why it riles some of our supporters in to reminding them of past actions, particularly those who got it in the neck the worst. People in glass houses and all that…
Tart it up with artistic flourishes as much you like Gurney, fact remains the performances by and large weren’t anywhere near good enough and the buck stops with Dean. The barometer dial barely moved from ‘dull / cloudy’ up against half decent teams. No progress was made on that score all season. Players looked like they needed better coaching, others faired better elsewhere etc. Formations, team selection, tactics etc. Are you ignoring all that in favour of ideological principles?

Think you’re referring to Gareth? I wasn’t. Though I’m not a huge fan tbh. Each to their own I suppose.
X post of the day: infamous effin and jeffin youtuber implores fellow Iron fans to ‘stay classy’ next season. Bravo!
Lol, forgot about Perchy!
How does 60% of our current budget fair with likes of Tamworth’s and Boston’s I wonder? Still competitive?
If we’re opening it up to mascots I’d put forward Chase the Ace from Belle Vue Speedway. Knows Jack about football but has some top dance moves.

No one’s saying we need a ‘managerial superman’ just someone competent enough to take us up. I and plenty others don’t think Dean has the attributes to accomplish that.

‘The football in the main has been piss poor for most of the season,’
Damn right it has. Admittedly I haven’t got to that many games this season but I’ve watched plenty on ÑLTV and almost every game was as dull as dishwater. Okay there’s been some games we’ve wiped the floor with a few teams but the mismatch in those has been tiresome too.
‘we have a habit in the past of changing managers regularly’
That and him being a top geezer çan’t be used as a reason to extend his contract. That would be crazy.
Sorry if it seems uncharitable, but it’s what I’d expect of any manager / coach. The way some people talk you’d think he was Mother Theresa. Just my opinion.
‘working for 2 months without pay or expenses.’ Okay. Does that make him Mr Nice or someone with little choice? Like I said, I’ve nothing massive against him personally, I just think some bandy around the ‘nice guy’ stuff quite liberally.
I don’t know any. What sort of things might they say?
I’ve nothing massively against the bloke but I can’t understand where all this ‘he’s a really nice guy’ stuff is coming from. Based on what?
And which of Dawson, Dawson, Wilcox, Alexander, Cox, Knill, Baroclough, Money. Didn’t fit that bill.
Hardly an endorsement of inbred success obviously not forgetting the underwhelming promotion under Wilcox at the time. Wouldn’t scoff at any promotion now.I take your point to an extent but its still a sweeping generalisation. Some were better than others. You can group them altogether as ‘inbreds’ as much as you want, but it doesn’t prevent an ex coming in and succeeding where others failed.
Club shoots itself in the foot.

Affordable you say? Bring it on!

Not obsessed with ex players coaching / managing but if Crosby is incoming I’m all for it. Club really needs a manager who understands it and cares for it with a passion. And be competent of course.
Andy Crosby.
Hope so matey.
Raised a smirk
Fanbase is healthy. Hopefully sustained with a decent new manager.
HMS Back Pedaling
I’m optimistic about the future. We finally have good ownership. It starts at the top with solid stable intelligent custodians and permeates throughout the club and on to the pitch. Bin the past and carry on the rebirth. Onwards and upwards. UTI
Hopefully next season with a new manager
Their amplifiers go up to 11. Ours only 7.
Contract length needs consideration. Can’t be having a lot of the squad thinking they might not be there for much longer come January

Was it definitely a pen from your viewing point? I’ll be honest, it was hard to call from the gantry camera
I completely understand your anger IA.
Boston could have won that 2 or 3 nil in 90mins
