Hope everyone is enjoying the dialogue from items as we approach the start of the 25/26 season back in the National League.
We are lucky to have an independent forum that has been hard to maintain during the club chaos years and thanks to Matt and the moderators who have done a great job. But occasionally others need to show a bit more interest now and again. This does not survive on fresh air !
The Forum started a Prediction League. It only costs £15 to join it, it is not much is it. That money is split 3 ways – £5 goes to costs, £5 to a prize fund and £5 for the Forum to sponsor a player.
To those who haven’t signed up yet I look forward to our challenge over the season, to those that had stopped these last few seasons we would like to see you back and to those who have never done it – it seems a shame.
And before anyone says who asked him – No one did, I do this to help this great award winning forum.
So thats it, just £15 please have a good think.

July 18, 2025 at 2:48 pm #307102How about a go fund me or just giving page to raise web hosting funds?
I’d donate £20 – but don’t want to have to predict results every week. I’ve not much interest in football other than Scunthorpe & Hercules.
I never watch England, PL, Championship etc, WC or Euros or club World Cup… just not interested in it anymore.
And I definitely don’t watch anything to do with girls football – no objection to them playing … but I wish the Beeb would stop trying to ram it down peoples throats with positive discrimination.July 18, 2025 at 4:02 pm #307105I just donated towards the costs Rene, just go on prediction thread and you just tell them where you want your money to go.
Not interested in tuther stuff like you.1 user thanked author for this post.
July 18, 2025 at 4:05 pm #307106Similar to Rene, I’m able to chuck some money for running costs, can’t be arsed with prediction leagues though.
Other forums I’ve seen sometimes have buttons for paypal/buy me a coffee for raising funds.

Lol, because they have the temerity to cover the Women’s Euro’s? It is an optional watch you know. The BBC have 3 other channels on showing other programmes. Or did you not know?
July 18, 2025 at 6:35 pm #307119I fail to see how showing women’s football can be discrimination. Who is it discriminating against?

Not interested in tuther stuff like you.I didn’t realise there was s PayPal donate button in the prediction league thread, so I’ve followed awg’s lead.
Might be worth having the donate button somewhere more prominant for general donations.
July 18, 2025 at 6:59 pm #307121Donated and registered – hopefully get a result right this season :) U T I

The amount of time and primarily public money invested by the BBC in the promotion of a sub standard product is scandalous.
The level… well, these professional adult females have known to be beaten by U15 boys teams. The USA team, who I believe were ranked no1 in the world for a good while, get whipped by U15 boys teams.
I just can’t see the appeal myself.
Everyone to their own i guess?
Happy viewing.July 18, 2025 at 7:51 pm #307124I didn’t realise there was s PayPal donate button in the prediction league thread, so I’ve followed awg’s lead.

Good point.
I wonder if one could be put on the menu or heading?

July 18, 2025 at 7:59 pm #307125Looks like there’s an increasing appetite for a supposed ‘sub standard product’ grandad:
July 18, 2025 at 8:08 pm #307128Thank you to those for the comments.
July 18, 2025 at 8:35 pm #307133Women’s football on tv is positive discrimination as it should be all women punditry in the main (believe they got rid of the token man Ian wright) let’s just do the same for men’s football.
July 18, 2025 at 8:52 pm #307136Pointless
July 18, 2025 at 8:54 pm #307137The was a male pundit covering the England v Sweden game last night, think he’s a former manager for a ladies team in this country, foreign bloke, don’t know his name TBH. Try again Awaywego.
July 18, 2025 at 9:10 pm #307140Did say in the main, and the one game I watched it was all female and don’t see anything wrong with that.
The women’s rugby is the same now, used to have Mr Moore adding his twopenneth but far better without him or anyone else they know their game better than any man just the same in reverse.July 18, 2025 at 9:39 pm #307142I don’t see any issue with male or female pundits appearing on men’s and women’s football programmes talking about the games they are watching, it’s 2025 FFS, people create agendas when there aren’t any IMO, only in certain people’s heads.
July 18, 2025 at 9:49 pm #307144Originally aired in 2010…
July 18, 2025 at 11:23 pm #307145women’s football has got better and better over the years, same with cricket and other sports, and they have as much right to play as men, we aren’t Afghanistan, if you don’t watch it, it is up to you but a lot of people do, I watched it last night and it wasn’t a bad game, and regarding the penalty shootout can any of you remember us playing at Barnsley a few years ago on a Tuesday night in a Cup game which we lost on penalties when both sides missed loads of pens like last night

Happy viewing.No-one forces you to watch; yes the quality will be less, but so is a Scunny game compared to a Barcelona game. It’s not positive discrimination to show a Scunny game on, sky, it isn’t to show a major woman’s tournament. No-one is being affected by its airing in any way.

July 19, 2025 at 9:46 am #307149Rene, you started a Wimbledon thread on non football opening with a post on Sonay Kartel.
So presumably it’s okay for the BBC to air women’s tennis but not football?
July 19, 2025 at 10:00 am #307150ITV also air the Women’s Euro’s. Not licence payers funds but presumably the demand is there for such a ‘sub standard’ product?
July 19, 2025 at 11:49 am #307152Hijacked thread?
