is it how many York can score, or when do the boos start for AB.
Call me negativity bhunaFebruary 22, 2026 at 1:42 pm #316598We will probably beat York and watch their manager get sent off for dissent .

February 22, 2026 at 2:07 pm #316600February 22, 2026 at 2:08 pm #316601And after York we’ve got our biggest bogey team on Saturday.

February 22, 2026 at 4:07 pm #316605AB talks about the teams with bigger budgets that we match yet i am sure that Boston, Aldershot, Altrincham to name a few that have beaten us have not got bigger budgets..

February 23, 2026 at 6:11 am #316620February 23, 2026 at 8:03 am #316621Undefeated away.
Unbeaten in the League since someone recorded a 1-3 victory at their ground on 1st October.
Bookies have York odds on.
A reversal of the earlier fixture?
Iron 1-3 York
Saying that – we perform better against the big fish than against the sprats.
I’ll stick with the 1-3 though… we’re in a bad place at the moment.February 23, 2026 at 10:53 am #316622Hartlepool fans thought they were going to get hammered and they only lost to a late penalty.
Get an early goal and see what happens
February 23, 2026 at 11:40 am #316623Play 442
Pass to own players
Play forward passes to runners
Feed crosses to big, rough Centre Forward
Stop Chuckle brother passingThat would be a good start.

February 24, 2026 at 6:17 am #316641Depends which Scuny is selected and then do they turn up? The Boston/Aldershot one or the Forest Green/Rochdale one. We wont be keeping a clean sheet which ever one it is. Over 3.5 goals
And we can hear if AB has figured anything out yet or will be their budget, its all my fault not the players, only our squad are carrying knocks, we’re safe from relegation why worry about the play-offs, players are playing in sandals due to the pitch not because i have taken the motivation off, York had a better pitch to play on than we did blah blah
February 24, 2026 at 4:24 pm #316649Scunny, Harrogate double is 17/1 tonight. That’s got to be worth a couple of quid?
February 24, 2026 at 5:54 pm #316655Well they haven’t lost a league game since we beat them at their place 22 games ago which is a phenomenal record, it’s time they lost again, come on Iron ✊

February 24, 2026 at 8:05 pm #316658Woeful defending first 15mins. York like Rochdale look a class above. Like NLN V L2

February 24, 2026 at 9:21 pm #316662Damage limitation now?
February 24, 2026 at 9:24 pm #316663What has happened? I’m pretty sure we used to be pretty decent in the National League but we’ve looked like a lower/mid-table NL team for the last 5 or 6 matches.

February 24, 2026 at 9:32 pm #316664I am thinking about the success last season which spluttered close to disaster in late Autumn.
Are there any similarities here?
After all – that ended rather well.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 24, 2026 at 9:43 pm #316665February 24, 2026 at 10:08 pm #316666Some players are not NL standard certainly but there are some that looked that good (and better) are now playing like NLN (and worse)
Have to agree about latest loanees, very strange choices and hard to see how they have improved the squad which seems short of numbers (temporarily due to injuries) and quality (presumably due to budgetaey constraints)
Has Roberts refused to play on the side of the pitch in front of the dugouts?February 24, 2026 at 10:16 pm #316667Cal Rpberts did not look interested tonight, expect AB to loan him out. Another fall out.
The team news deflates you, what does carlton ever do for the iron, and if AB was happy with the first half, which he must have been, he was watching a different match to me.
No subs till 20 minutes to go, ffs..February 24, 2026 at 10:16 pm #316668No real competition for places either. Budget bottom line again.
February 24, 2026 at 10:25 pm #316669some are saying, scunthorpe do not want promotion to league 2 as they cannot afford it…
February 24, 2026 at 10:41 pm #316670Reality check, we lost to an excellent National League side who already look more than good enough to give league 2 a real shake up. What I would give for a player like Stones up front for us, strong, quick, powerful and a constant threat and what a work ethic that boy has. As much as I have enjoyed watching Boycey over the last few seasons surely this must be his last season in an Iron shirt, we simply need quicker players both in pace and thought in our back four next season and tonight was a lesson in how money influences sport, you get what you pay for and we need bigger investment if we are to approach anything like York City showed tonight, we were much better than against Boston but against the best it simply wasn’t good enough, I’m not slagging of the whole performance because we battled but they were just too good for us simple as that.

February 24, 2026 at 10:52 pm #316671Can’t afford to play in the fourth division? Jeez!
Not quite sure about the Carlton/Roberts swap but the cognoscenti on here were saying Ewing should be dropped.
York stronger and half a yard sharper. Iron wasteful and wayward.
Had a decent spell of possession midway through the second half then Mahady decides to go play fullback. Shame as he’d made two good saves to prevent certain goals earlier.
And do we have a plan of attack other than to wait for the opposition to make an error?
All looking a bit disjointed!
February 24, 2026 at 10:56 pm #316672And there’s nothing wrong with that Ironawe, sometimes you’ve just have to admit you were beaten by the better team.
Move forward after the Solihull game and let’s hope we can get some form back heading into the playoffs.
Well soon see whether Howe is on a month’s loan or not, after results since he left and the replacement on a no show, don’t even Butler could think the decision was a good one, and doesn’t realise he’s needed back on our bench.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 25, 2026 at 5:57 am #316673Not all that long ago, we had a pretty decent team – one to be proud of.
(Good job we’d accrued all those points though, coz if we’d been on – say – 38 points, relegation would now have become our greatest fear).
I’d thought that we had 12, maybe 14, pretty decent players. I’m not sure now that we could produce a top notch 5 a side team.
I haven’t read anything on Bru to convince me about what is so very wrong at the moment. I watch in disbelief.
Is it one single thing – or a multitude?
Has our pitch got players going for ‘safety first?’ If so, how does that explain away form?
I am truly baffled and, worse, I can’t see how it can be fixed.February 25, 2026 at 6:40 am #316674Last night was an improved effort, which was good to see though i’m not sure York were even in top gear and they were way better than us and everyone else. The squad cant cope with injuries/loss of form.
Defence Horton FL level has lost his form, Rose FL injured, the rest of the defence only just about NL level.
Midfield Ewing FL loss of form, Rowley NL loss of form, Westbrooke FL and the only one in form, Beeston FL just getting back into full flow needs a run of games, rest just about NL level on good days
Forwards Roberts FL and carrying us at present, Smith NL level needs game time, Whitehall just NL out of form, all the rest just about NL level or not seen enough of them, Carlton NLN.
Just need to put the same effort in, play at pace and get a centre half on loan to organise the chaosFebruary 25, 2026 at 7:03 am #316675some are saying, scunthorpe do not want promotion to league 2 as they cannot afford it…
The age old dilemma. Promotion = larger squad, increased wage demands, higher playing costs.
Attendances wouldn’t rise enough to cover the increase in player numbers and subsequent wage bill.
