Big performance needed tonight from the Lionesses. Only really started playing 10mins from time last game
July 9, 2025 at 12:30 pm #306661July 9, 2025 at 1:06 pm #306663Very poor last game , bullied all over the park particularly in midfield and destroyed down the flanks with pace and good interplay. France deserved winners, England have deffo lost an edge to their game going by that performance.
July 9, 2025 at 6:00 pm #306679A bit more like it so far.
July 9, 2025 at 6:05 pm #306680Much better
July 9, 2025 at 8:09 pm #306682A good display more in keeping with the Euro winning Lionesses from 2022, strong, battled for every ball, proper physicality this time and pressurised the Dutch throughout the game. The opposition tonight were not as good as France but that shouldn’t distract from a much improved effort by the England gals.
July 17, 2025 at 10:59 pm #307076What a great game! Some really class moves from England second half. Deserved to get back in it. And what a dramatic penalty shoot out. Love to see it.
July 17, 2025 at 11:03 pm #307077Not sure what to make of tonight’s England v Sweden game, terrible first half by England deserved lead for Sweden. Better second half and the subs certainly made all the difference to get the girls back level at 2-2, a nervy extra time followed by possibly the worst penalty shootout in history but England got through anyway. They have to play better against Italy in the semi or they are gone, just hope the injuries to some players aren’t that bad. I wouldn’t play Jess Carter next game if possible, she lacked pace and looked really clumsy tonight, responsible for their first goal and outpaced plus caught wrong side of her player for the second, rightly subbed in the second half.
July 17, 2025 at 11:05 pm #307078Agree it was exciting at times DM but they can play better then that England.
July 17, 2025 at 11:07 pm #307079If you can’t be good be lucky.
Deery was watching on a different channel to me.
July 17, 2025 at 11:12 pm #307081Surely you can’t deny they deserved to equalise MKI? Still a great game, no?
July 18, 2025 at 10:22 am #307086Worst bunch of penalties I’ve ever seen.
On reflection, probably not.
One of them was definitely a Cliffy/Waddle.
July 18, 2025 at 10:45 am #307087Pen shoot outs are often like that in the Women’s matches. Makes it more interesting. Very unpredictable

I clicked back over when we were 2-2 and choose to brave it right up until penalty shootout. That shootout was absolutely abysmal.
I was confused why Sweden allowed their GK to take one when she was the 4th/5th player up. Bonkers.
There’s a reason why I don’t usually watch women’s football. No offence to the ladies games as they try and quite clearly play with passion, but don’t think I’ll bother again.
Surely we have to play better than that though to go any further.
July 18, 2025 at 12:46 pm #307092Some miserable elitists about these days. Don’t think the women’s game will mourn any viewer losses while it continues to grow.
July 18, 2025 at 8:07 pm #307127The standard drops miles below the men’s level and I watch enough of that during the season. I remember when USA women’s national team “1st team with no reserves” got pumped by a 14/15yr olds.
I hope it does grow, but for the most part it’s just not very good.
July 18, 2025 at 8:14 pm #307130I could say the same about men’s counties and pub level football but I also enjoy those too. It’s all relative but I suppose not if you feel your perceived masculinity is threatened.
July 18, 2025 at 8:36 pm #307134How does Jess Carter get a game.
Simply not good enough.
Other teams will exploit this.1 user thanked author for this post.
July 18, 2025 at 8:51 pm #307135Don’t know what Weigman is seeing there
July 18, 2025 at 8:58 pm #307138Think Jess Carter is the alternative for Milly Bright but it ain’t working, that Charles looked good when she came on at left back so there are options to be had.

July 18, 2025 at 9:43 pm #307143What was that? Highest attendance across women’s Euro’s quarter finals? Not bad for a ‘sub standard’ product. Last person who told me a live match we were watching was rubbish and sub standard was a Leeds fan with me watching Leyton V Scunny at Brisbane Road, around 2000. Make of that what you will.
July 19, 2025 at 11:02 pm #307226Quality pens from France and Germany
July 22, 2025 at 10:44 pm #307464Bloody hell those Lionesses don’t half know how to put us through it but once again they come from behind to win it in extra time. Agyemang is going to be a great England player because at 19 her attitude is brilliant, twice she has come on late and saved England. Italy defended well but once the equaliser went in England dominated and deserved it IMO. Some say a soft penalty but we have seen them given plenty of times before and tonight was the right time to give another one. Come on England win that final again.
July 22, 2025 at 11:07 pm #307465Deserved to win in the end but pretty rubbish for most the 90. Those late subs were almost too late on 85mins. I hope they review the game and realise all those long balls and crosses weren’t really working. Got to admire the never say die attitude though. And Agyemang and Kelly are obvious game changers. Should be an interesting semi tomorrow and final Sunday.
July 27, 2025 at 8:05 pm #307672Did it the hard way but we’ll take it, doing what the blokes cant seem to do. Ground out but often dangerous on the break and on the whole, kept Spain out enough. Great pens and two excellent saves. Feel for Spain but that’s football.
July 27, 2025 at 8:08 pm #307673Quite an achievement by the Lionesses first major football trophy won abroad by any English National team. Hanging on a bit against a very good Spanish team but hey they couldn’t take penalties as good as our girls and that’s what matters. England’s keeper has had a great tournament and it’s nice to see the girls making history for an England team tonight, great stuff.
July 27, 2025 at 8:20 pm #307677Incredible! If it was the plot of a film you’d say it was far fetched.
Loved Chloe Kelly’s penalty. Straight out of the Harry Kane repertoire.

July 27, 2025 at 8:39 pm #307678Huge achievement. I love the resilience they have.
July 27, 2025 at 8:44 pm #307679Didn’t watch it don’t like the womens game. but we’ll done england and I’m sure all of you who do enjoyed it.
I will relish in the win, england all the way even in tiddlywinks.Whatever top honour can be given to a foreigner the manager deserves it, for winning not losing like the last men’s manager did and got.
July 27, 2025 at 8:54 pm #307681Do you watch women do anything other than cook, clean and iron?
