See the Club are now telling us who will represent the fans !
How were these people selected ?
Surely the Iron Trust with over 1200 Members , Irish Iron , Winterton Iron and the London Fans already do this !

Yes, but they only want to hear what people who toe the line have to say.

These roles are pointless in my opinion. The club should have contact with fans group as a working committee looking in.Tgese people don’t look prepared for the vile abuse heading their way when “the corner” doesn’t get opened or they don’t get the manager sacked for a bad game

In other news a glut of new season ticket holders clamouring for seats in the newly named Threadgold Stand, people are apparently dying to get in there.

Why is an annoying drummer an obvious choice?

Michelle loves him, she knows his mum, the players love him, fans love him for the atmosphere he helps create, he was on the open top bus invited by Michelle, he was on the kit video release.
Other than that i haven’t got a clue why he would be an obvious choice.

Another bunch of sweaty, replica kit-clad, happy clapper kidult yes people types, so it seems. Because being challenged by an independent trust is just to uncomfortable for the little sweethearts on the board

There is potential for something like this to have legs if implemented correctly; personally thought we had enough fan representation with the Trust, podcast lads etc but if the club want something official in place then so be it. Hopefully all demographics are represented and club can get a true feel for what the mood is on the terrace and not just the loudest voices online.

With regards to The young drummer; he has done a good job at helping the atmosphere in the DRE, home games in recent years have consistently had a better atmosphere than we’ve ever had at GP. Good luck to him, he may need thicker skin than his drum once the online moaners start though.

What! You mean like what Dragoniron just said.
As much has i believe the trust should be the voice of the fans, to claim hes an happy clapper when not knowing him, really.

Was a general over arching comment. I’m sure he’s a nice enough lad, but like that craze for smokebombs amongst the illiterati the drum is a bit irritating.

It’s your age Dragoniron the lad is doing a good job helping to create a good atmosphere on match day. I’m far enough away in the Threadgold Stand to not let him irritate me and it’s the only stand to be in really for us oldies now Jason and Co are sponsoring it, he will be looking round us all licking his lips in anticipation.

But if the drum is parumping how can the shouts of ‘Pull your longs up Shortden’ or ‘Shite Laws’ be heard?

The club/party picking the candidates is a bit on party state democracy

im guessing these people were cherry picked as whilst appeasing the fan base in general they will not rock the boat with regard to anything up to BovD level… i think its a good idea but would much rather se some older more out spoken faces involved.
At least Stu Maw wasnt chosen maybe his tongue wasnt long enough this time .

So many opinions based on no facts just assumptions! Mainly is seems because they don’t fit a criteria for a fans representative and yet all the groups mentioned represent a section of fans not all fans.
i do know one of the fans, they have been attending games for 20+ seasons. Most of those years as a season ticket holder and goes to most away games too. They do use the club shop, restaurant and have sponsored the ball. Finally if you think they will a club stooge clearly not met them!
While slightly biased, I’m happy to give the groups a chance before criticising them.

Voice of the fans is not a group they’re individuals, of the other groups I’m sure we’ve all made up our mind up on them.
One group seeks photo opportunities at every twist and turn, more of a “hey look at me” group they even have their names on their shirts so you remember them. Happy clappers no doubt but they are supposedly raising funds, was all about the club in the beginning but now diversified into parties and charities.
Tuther group mainly keeps a low profile though they are there to talk with every home game at the corner.
So both being going long enough to support or criticize.

Iron group picked from a list suggested by the club lost any credibility before it started. If that is the case how they were picked

Was there not something on the OWS inviting fans to apply about 6 months ago?

It did not specify any selection criteria if memory serves.

The club can claim the opportunity was there for everyone and I’m sure they will as soon as the criticism starts.

Twas the day after the club met with the trust over the fc100,000 debacle. which i and others highlighted at the time and was a kick in the gooners for the trust.
Even after that the trust go cap in hand saying please sir can we give you some money, and politely told to do one.
