What happened to that?
we never got to discuss the following“They told trust to take it down
And it’s now been taken down” Shocking way to treat them“The club have trademarked the unity crest
And some other stuff” The Unity crest they refused for years and one which they wouldn’t have a useable image of had a fan not remodelled from old Photos years ago“They’ve trademarked the words -the iron-” Trademarking words , WTF?
“Banned trust from selling anything other than mugs on trust corner as well a
telling the trust they couldn’t operate a click and collect at the ground
as terrace were fuming trust had a shop”
Screw Terrace, generic football tat is all you’ll ever get with a generic merchant.Along with them trying to make it Chav Yob FC,I’m not happy with the way the club is shaping right now,
June 5, 2025 at 7:36 pm #305489More than a year to late to cotton on there 64.
June 5, 2025 at 8:53 pm #305492Alarming behaviour from the club if true. Doesn’t the Trust donate these kind of moneys to the club in shares anyway?
June 5, 2025 at 11:13 pm #305494Why should the club have to go through a middle man to get money for their TM merchandise.
Poor form from the Trust to think it’s ok to sell knock off gear.
June 6, 2025 at 10:00 am #305495You mean through a profit making company that runs the shop such as Terrace or a Trust that has a non profit policy ?
June 6, 2025 at 10:22 am #305496So Terrace run the club shop not the Club?
Presumably they pay a commercial rent though?
Are the shop staff employed by Terrace?June 6, 2025 at 11:17 am #305497If the boys on the FB group started selling Trust branded stuff without permission, would that be OK?
June 6, 2025 at 11:54 am #305498The stuff Terrace have been knocking out in the name of our Club is only marginally better than what was on offer before, and it’s a very thin margin at that. It’s mostly guff – very boring generic crap.
The apparently aggressive move by the Club to limit the Trust in this way – is that indicative of a relationship going sour? It looks it to me.

No.

June 6, 2025 at 12:14 pm #305500From meeting them over the fc100,000 debacle then within days advertise for fans to be a mouthpiece to work with, (anyone know if anything came from that call) the club showed what they think of the trust, similar to how they treat Danny.
June 6, 2025 at 12:25 pm #305501Are the shop staff employed by Terrace?
No.
Then I don’t understand 64s’ post, care to elaborate 64?

Some people don’t like being disagreed with or held to account, particularly by people without any skin in the game. But often especially by people who do have skin in the game (however modest an amount).
June 6, 2025 at 9:28 pm #305525I think Braintree were formed 1 year after us and have always had the name ‘The Iron’ . Could be an interesting legal case ahead because wasn’t Scunthorpe United at one time known as ‘The Knuts’ before changing its name ?

Maybe have a nationally important steelworks as primary employer in the town might just swing it for our team with that link being important to fans aswell as the club. Can’t remember the last steelworks in Braintree, when was that now, erm?……..
June 6, 2025 at 10:48 pm #305530Adopting the nickname ‘the Iron’ because of a link to metal window frames seems a bit tenuous.

Is that the Braintree link? Wow that really is scraping the barrel, lol.
June 6, 2025 at 11:17 pm #305537A transparent misuse of a nickname
June 8, 2025 at 9:50 pm #305561I think one of the key takeaways is that while the club were banning the trust from selling anything other than mugs on the corner, they were inviting Irish iron in to sell all their merch in the iron bar…
Just seems to me that the supporters clubs that have supported the club are not being treated fairly or equal…
Short memory’s…

‘knock off gear’? Not like they’re some chancers making a fast buck given profits go back in to the club.

A deliberate ‘f*ck you’ to the Trust from the Club, it looks like.

June 9, 2025 at 9:18 am #305573Or a very sensible decision given their contract with Terrace.
Weird that there are people who actually think the club should allow a 3rd party to sell a wide range of merch that they have zero control over.

So why wasn’t the same cease and desist order issued to Irish Iron, why weren’t the people selling prints of goals pursued, and why aren’t the online hawkers of general tat pursued?
June 9, 2025 at 10:07 am #305578Don’t think they have an online store selling such a wide range of merch?
June 9, 2025 at 10:15 am #305579Don’t think they have an online store selling such a wide range of merch?
Splitting hairs, there. Irish Iron advertise their wares online, those prints are sold online and tat hawkers used Etsy or Ebay or whatever. You can go on Amazon and find a load of Iron shite too.
June 9, 2025 at 10:20 am #305580They certainly spread their wares on the Facebook group
June 9, 2025 at 10:34 am #305581Maybe they were courteous enough to get permission from the club to sell the 3/4 items on their Facebook page.
It’s hardly a full scale online store that had clearly been set up as direct competition to the merch Terrace provide.
Everyone knows the reason certain people were so keen to set it up!
June 9, 2025 at 10:39 am #305582Everyone knows or assumes they know?.
It was set up to help the club, the myriad of Etsy stores are selling for personal profit. I doubt you believe they asked for permissionJune 9, 2025 at 10:42 am #305583Not sure the club have the finances to shut down Etsy stores selling knock off merch?
Asking the Trust to shut down theres was a simple step that I assume would have cost them next to nothing?
June 9, 2025 at 10:48 am #305585It’s cost them the merch profits trust members would buy,I’d imagine a very small amount .Which makes it more stupi
