With the Tories unable to organise a whist drive and Labour on the brink of civil war one would think that the other political parties would be able to drive a tank through the wreckage of the big two.
Yet the silence has been deafening.
All I have had through my door is a flyer from our local Green Party representative saying how much he enjoys rock climbing and cycling and telling me about his new electric van share programme for small businesses. Lovely!
Then I read about that serial fruit-loop Farage wanting to rebrand The Brexit Party as an Anti-Lockdown Party! Nutter!
So where are the Lib Dem’s in all of this? The champions of the middle ground are nowhere to be seen. Their mantle seems to have been taken by Starmer-ites and Conservative back-benchers.
The Lib Dems have been weak for a while. I think the local elections last year got them giddy and poor results in the general election has left them dazed and confused. I think they’re struggling to find a route for their party and it’s not helped by the lack of MPs who have any kind of experience.
Say what you like about Clegg, Cable and co. They had clout and experience. Their current crop are a bunch of no hopers.
The only ability Farage has is the one to exploit public selfishness and nurture division.
Every Party agrees on taking a 4 week lockdown so we’re not in a situation where thousands of people are dying horribly without medical care, but Farage knows better. What a tit.
