I know it’s a bit harsh on Gabriel but he could come on after 5 minutes when Yann breaks down but at least the first eleven are our players.

Perch and Songo’o CMF? Not a lot of creativity there, but then again Russ is the minister of defence, so you’re probably right!

The above with Gabriel, Beestin and Green given a good half hour wouldn’t be too bad.

Still fearful of a heavy defeat mind.

I thought I had read that Eisa was doubtful so expecting he will play Colclough, but knowing Russ he will play a extra defender.

Expecting a hammering if we play like we did on Tuesday.

If our game gets called off due to Storm Dennis and cod heads lose, I’ll settle for that.

Yes hopefully it might put some wind in Millers sails.

Not a case of if Doyle scores but how many!

I find myself hoping that Rory is fit enough to return to the side. McCardle not Watson that is.

Our motley bunch never play well in bad weather they don’t like it wet cold and windy so if its anything other than nice sunshine its a big loss looming !

Talking about Macclesfield on a baking hot day the first match of the season when Lee Hodges scored when running from the half-way line in our 1-0 win was a memorable day.My daughter who has just given birth to a gorgeous baby girl was stung by a wasp and received treatment from the St. John’s ambulance staff before the match!

Yeah, it was baking that day. No complaints! It definitely wasn’t the same day as the other match as I was in a different country watching that!

Storm Dennis might impact this game looking at the weather forecast

The forecast was there for the match organisers to see.

Dennis has been all over the news, all over the forecasts. They should have called it off first thing this morning.

Not fair on supporters, the team and officials.

If they knew about the stand and the safety aspects of the stand, this disision could have been taken, earlier this morning surely, everyone had been talking about storm Dennis for about a week now, absolutely disgusting,my mate has just got there well pissed off, only 2 games off at the moment in the EFL Swindon and Rochdale, and Rochdale is a waterlogged pitch, anyway we can’t loose today just an opinion.

Match postponed “in the interests of supporter safety”.

Safe from having to witness a drubbing as well as a soaking?

Suspicious sequence of events in Swindon.

First the Swindon manager is quoted on the local papers website saying matches should be postponed when it’s windy.

Shortly afterwards Swindon officials raise concerns about crowd safety. The referee and Scunthorpe officials are involved in discussions resulting in the game being the only one in the top 4 divisions to be called of because of crowd safety concerns. Just over an hour before kick off. As far as I’m aware the storm is affecting the whole of the country. Also the whole country has been aware of the storm and its likely impact for days.

So the best footballing side in the division don’t have to play a struggling team in 50 mile an hour winds.

Which of the two teams had most to gain from the game being turned into a scrappy defensive dogfight?

No way could the referee or Scunthorpe officials risk overuling the “safety” advice from Swindon.

Coincidentally the Swindon manager’s article about playing in the wind now seems to have gone from the Swindon Advertiser site.

Maybe I am reading too much into this and we would probably have still been skelped anyway. At least our recent displays made me decide against another visit to a ground I often go to. Lot of sympathy for the poor souls that wasted so much tim and money for nothing today.

Mate of mine who went said bits of the stand roof had been blown off, but I’m not sure whether he saw that or was just reporting what he was told.

Reports afterwards from Swindon’s manager was suggesting it was due to loose advertising hoardings.

To think we complain about running out of pies.
