Southend fan in peace! Sorry you guys had to come down and join us in the NL – it hurts like hell doesn’t it.

To be fair, the football has been pretty good down here (more enjoyable than much of what League Two has served up over the years) but the refereeing standard is eye-wateringly awful. Consistently. Rare good refs like we had at Daggers on Saturday need to be enjoyed because they’re as rare as Iranian Gin salesmen.

It takes a while to turn the corner – we’re still turning it, although light years ahead of where we were exactly 12 months ago.
