E mails going out inviting shareholders to meetings with the chairman.
    Why is he suddenly interested?

E mails going out inviting shareholders to meetings with the chairman.
    Why is he suddenly interested?

Well, same reason he’s now not saying “it’s our club” meaning the Swanns property and is now saying “it’s your club” no doubt because the money has dried up.

Swannster want’s our money doesn’t he now !

Same as inviting shareholders for meetings. The supporters club in particular asked for a space on the board to have say and all he used to say was ” you put the money I’ve put into the club, you can have a say”

Fans also asked for the possibility of buying shares and he scoffed at the idea.

As I said above, now the money has dried up he’ll be looking at doing a u-turn no.

    Too little, too late pal.

I shall not be attending. I have no time for the Board because it comprises three members of the Swann family and the C. E. O. whom they pay. There can be little diversity of opinion. By the way, other former Board members still have large sums of money in the Club.
I wish the Club were being run “as a hobby” (Swann’s own words, as I recall), as it allegedly was under Wharton.
I am thinking of writing two books:
    1. How to run a Football Club and
    2. How to ruin a Football Club.
Whom should I choose to help me?
It is unfortunate that the Chairman has at various times alienated many fans by his actions, “Biscuitgate” being one of them. How petty!
Swann didn’t want to run Shareholders’ Meetings in the past so I ask myself why has he changed his tune?
In the words of T.S.E., “Descend lower …”. Sorry, we can’t because we’re already bottom of the F.L.!
Here lie the thoughts of an ex referee who has supported the Iron since the 1950s and, if we’re not very careful, F. L. status, too.

Since 2013 he has blanked shareholders at every opportunity. At previous forums he ridicules fans genuine suggestions.

A few years ago he even wanted people to GIVE him their shares for virtually nothing !
Even in May of this year when the club lost its ground it was pointed out that his company held 91.5% of the shares in case people had forgotten the last time he reminded people.

I will not be attending because I no longer have any trust in the leadership.

I would ask the two of you, and other shareholders considering non-attendance, to think again.
We run the risk of ” well I gave shareholders the chance to express their views and they weren’t interested” Another opportunity to deflect blame on to another innocent target. I hold out little hope of any ultimate benefit to supporters as a result of the meeting but significant shareholder attendance followed by lack of any subsequent action correctly identifies where the responsibility lies.

We all know where the responsibility lies Cass before any pointless shareholder meeting.

Not reconsidering. Been to previous forums and heard the ‘smiling’ digs at older fans, probably now no longer with us. Perhaps the were rambling but they were entitled to comment and yet treated with disdain.

Mr Swann had a podcast and a humberside interview where he could have said something about these meetings and why he wanted to conduct them – but not a word ! The veiled accusation in both broadcasts that the stayaways are those causing the damage. Still will not own the situation where we have ended up with his leadership, his recruitment and the failed experiment that delivered it.

If the gates were double what they are he would consider it a victory no matter where we are in the league. And just to remind he has 91.5% of the shares, he likes to remind people.

Never having been a shareholder, i can see both sides of this.
Shareholders have certainly been treated abysmally, (haven’t we all?), so why would they turn up to another meeting for some more of the same?

    And yet…

And yet, its a nailed on certainty that, if they don’t, the Prawn WILL say something along these lines: “I tried to reach out to shareholders, but they showed no interest… it’s their fault”.

    ALCAZAR – he probably will.

There is no point me going because I don’t trust him. I did – but no longer.

    Not a shareholder but if anybody is going I would like somebody to pose the question;

Iron Bru challenged Swann about the possibility that the fans stay away because of him

‘get someone else in’ was the response

Buy my 8m shares and take over – So the chairman takes 90+% of the shares but then strips the assets of said company (SUFC) the shares reflect the company value so what are those shares worth now (the club has no tangible assets). Is there a tracker on the value of these shares because if they were £1 each with the ground and land what are they now with nothing? How much is he declaring these shares (and therefore SUFC) is now worth.

I bet the value remains the same (so no sane person would be interested) but the actual worth is nil.

I wonder if his response will be as nervous and hesitant as the question about the EFL loan which just plain stank.

Why not use the meeting as an opportunity to show your displeasure at the chairman, you wont get that many chances to be in his company. Just a thought.

To me, he’s in a position of leadership with no leadership skills.

I’ve worked for a couple of bosses like that.
The second one drove the business bust, it no longer exists.
But it was never his fault, always ours.

I can believe it was your fault Alcy.

We got told it was our fault so often we almost believed it.

We either hadn’t done as he wanted, or we had, but not enough/too much/wrong
