There’s been a lot of conjecture, rumours and dodgy info flying about today, but if any of it is true, and the text quotes and email quotes are proven to be true, then no supporter of WHAM is a supporter of the club. Its time he was ran out of town. If the club in its current guise disappears, there will always be something, a phoenix club, a Sunday league club, but we will ALWAYS be better than him. The use of the term spastic is truly abhorrent from him, in fact nigh on unforgivable. A sign he’s a lowlife, and not deserving of any position in charge of people, let alone a community club with disabled supporters.

The biggest issue is that no one knows what is the truth and what is a genuine troll. I’ve seen the comments and response and my first thought was it could never be proven and it seemed like a wind up to me.

I’ve also seen White/Hilton’s response saying it’s not him.

There needs to be some firm lines drawn.

    1. Only communication with Fans has to be formal through the club, not via any social media outlet.
    2. Disassociation with any members/admins of any social media groups.

Maybe then all this BS will stop.

I also do not agree with how the banning orders have been handled and it’s a sad day for the club that genuine supporters are no longer welcome. I fear the situation is only going to get worse.

I have seen his post comments on Facebook. I thought it was very very strange that he said “this is a lie” and then immediately switched into talking about the bans.

I think anyone with decency would most likely have said “I am devastated by this, it’s a heinous slur, I would never ever say anything like this, I will track down the people responsible for this terrible mistruth, I will get my solicitors involved” etc etc.

I certainly wouldn’t expect them to just brisk past it as if it’s the least important part of the screenshot, and move on to justifying banning orders.

To be fair he responded further down. But again, how do I know that’s really him?

The Lower League Look claiming they have proof. It will be interesting to see what they have.

I have seen his post comments on Facebook. I thought it was very very strange that he said “this is a lie” and then immediately switched into talking about the bans.

And the final comment was “I find it strange that I can be targeted with hate everyday. Yet a reaction from me is deemed completely disrespectful.” Which raises the question, what “reaction” was he referring to?

It seems that what Bru posters see as scepticism and criticism is interpreted as hate. (Unless the hate comes from other places that I don’t go?)

Some on here dislike him, find him a worrying character, but the comments are mostly critique, even if strongly put. It’s not abuse, which is unlike Hilton’s comments directed at the site and fans. This is yet more divisive rhetoric from him, which has been an unfortunate theme for his entire ownership. He expects to be held responsible for nothing.

I really hope future owners stay off social media. It rarely ends well and creates division. Whatever is posted on social media from the owner or Board should be posted on the club’s website so it’s more accessible to all fans – specially those that don’t / won’t entertain Twitter and Facebook

It’s worth a listen to ‘The Hard Truth’ podcast , it’s quite good and they touch on the Scunny and Southend situations near the end .

You have to wonder if this level of social media engagement is from a playbook – all about causing chaos and division.

If Mr Wagstaff or Mr Wharton (for example) had started putting out club info in this manner rather than through official channels I would have been seriously alarmed. It’s highly unprofessional and completely compromises the credibility of the club itself – and it absolutely causes chaos. As I have said above, you have to wonder if that is the intention.

An external review at some point, in the future, of how social media communications played it’s part in this car crash would be beneficial I reckon. Lots of lessons to be learned. Might aswell add it to the novel about a fictional non-league side in turmoil and the Netflix drama.

Any sort of examination of social media / comms problems would be a minefield. I don’t think it could actually come to any conclusion other than a certain person is bang out of order (if we’re talking about the club itself having had a proper strategy, which has been compromised and devalued time and again).

It would be a minefield. Maybe better as a dissertation? Lol, ‘having looked at all the facts in great detail, this report finds that X was bang out of order’.

Trying to apply any sort of rationale to a situation from your own mindset is futile. To understand a subject’s thought process, you need to know how their brain works and what they’re hoping to achieve as a result of their behaviour.

As things stand, a lot of noise is coming from Hilton’s corner. He wants to show that he’s still in control and he’s doing his best to divert attention away from the obvious issue(s).

The reality of the situation is the business is in freefall and a number of organisations are now investigating. For all Hilton’s bluster, he has no control over those organisations or how their work proceeds from here.
