Probably the only way to make Campbell look like a number one.

    Unbelievable Jeff.

Not very imaginative or inspiring is it.

Anyway that’s the GK positions sorted for the season.

Hopefully Will and Co. Can protect these guys like they helped Fitz to keep the number of clean sheets he managed.

No doubt there will be several posts replacing the word “interesting.”
    I’ll start with disappointing.

So who really did you think we would sign as a number 2 keeper

Signing is the important word. Campbell is Butlers No1, why would a club loan out a bench warmer for a season? It makes no sense to me, we needed a second keeper for certain but I’ve always maintained that loans in should be certain/regular starters or nobody benefits.
    (And I don’t rate Watson)

I didn’t mind Rory Watson when he played for us but Wilko and friends want us to sign the likes of Pickford so start a social media pile on

The only experience he’s got is being one of the worst keepers in our recent history (since then being Wrexham’s 3rd choice and a bench warmer for York). Interesting signing indeed.

He wasn’t that good when he was here before, left us 3 years ago and played about 20 games since hardly inspiring, he will stand on his line watching again when the crosses come in especially from corners, another dracula, good shot stopper but scared of crosses.

Rory is a good keeper, played in extremely poor Iron Teams subsequently lost his confidence and got shot to pieces by fans.

Good luck to him, Fitzsimmons was going to be hard to replace whoever wears the gloves, certainly better than Maison though.

It’s amazing how many supporters forget how shite those teams were and dumped much of the blame on Rory. Not forgetting the inept managers

    Rory is a good keeper

So good that he’s managed to start 11 games in 3 seasons?

Not convinced. He wasn’t helped by being in a terrible team, but he was one of the poor elements of it. The fact that he has never been first choice since says it all, but he might have improved. It’s all we can hope for. I would have been happier with Slocombe.

I certainly remember how shite they were, with Rory being one of shite-ist! If we didn’t bring in Mark Howard during the 20/21 season we would have arrived at our non-league destination sooner than we did.

Complete bullshit. There are out of contract GK’s without a club right now training at that performance centre for out of contract players, one of them being Paul Farman for example. There are another few decent experienced keepers training there.

We then sign Rory Watson on loan, who’s been 2nd and 3rd choice and hasn’t even played 20 games since leaving us 3 seasons ago. Nobody expects a top quality GK because we are where we are, but Rory Watson on loan….come on !.

Nobody in their right mind would think signing him is a good idea. Watson was terrible last time he was here.

Guess it’s all about the money, this will be the benchmark for the club as it tries to climb the league structure, if we can’t afford it we ain’t having it.

It always amazes me that wonder goals has never been in a position of power at league status instead of assistant at a pub team I have now seen why

Don’t be fooled, in his head he’s managed England to several World Cup wins, a real fountain of knowledge about the game

Not a fan of the social media pile ons but this is surprising to say the least.

It does however confirm we don’t have a pot to piss in.

I have to repeat that not getting a proper NL GK in is a false economy – a fact that will be realised pretty darn quick if we are entrenched in the bottom 6 and the number of fans in attendance at the AA begins to tail off sharply.
We really must desperately hope that Mussels and AB have called this one right – that Maison is a genuinely top keeper. Too many fans have not yet witnessed any evidence of this. I truly regret that I am one such.
You may recall my praise several months ago for the overall high standards of goalkeeping in the NLN last season – and we probably had the best of the bunch. Moreover, on average, the keepers will be better in the NL.
A feeling down in the very depths of my gut persistently reminds me of time Alan O Meara was thought good enough to keep in the Football League.

Could here the laughter here in Corfu Rory Watson ffs.

Tinternets been down typical and we sign Rory Watson ffs.

Getting to like Butler a little bit with that sense of humour Rory bloody Watson!
” I’ll teach em for dissing my number 1 goalie choice, they want experience they’ll get experience Rory the best ever at picking the ball out of the back of the net, then to piss off awaywego off even more he’ll hate that I’ve re-signed another inbred lol”

On a serious note is this really the best the club can offer the fans.

Obviously wasn’t there today but I see he started with another loss!

Shocker. It’s going to be a long season if Campbell’s not the man or he gets hurt.
I hope Butty’s confidence is very well placed.
