That’s the best performance I seen from the Iron in a long while.I thought we were better than Rochdale and deserved to win

March 25, 2026 at 10:50 pm #318326Certainly didn’t deserve to lose and the fight back was excellent because we had played some great football and didn’t deserve to be 2-0 down. I’m not going to slate Jones because the back pass left him in no man’s land and he made the wrong choice, shit happens and he pulled of some good saves in the match which helped us stay in it. Great opportunism from Cal to get us back into it and who else but Alfie Beestin drawing us level with a thumping shot, who doesn’t love Alfie really he’s proper Scunthorpe United through and through IMO, I hope he sees his career out with us. Most entertaining game along with the Forest Green encounter a few weeks back at the AA this season. Disappointing turnout for a top clash and Rochdale only bringing 630 fans to an away game with that team they have is rubbish IMO York brought 1600 and their fans were brilliant.
March 25, 2026 at 11:14 pm #318328Great game and performance to watch on DAZN. Shame about their goals and Jones error of judgement but agree he pulled off some decent saves. Dausch deserves praise again. Some very smart touches and thinking. Love to watch him. Unpredictable, in a good way. Think he’ll go far.

Fair post but it wasn’t a back pass.
March 26, 2026 at 12:38 am #318330Must have missed the clever pass then BB26, that midfield was a little congested at times.
March 26, 2026 at 1:00 am #318332All resulted from his initial poor clearance so unfortunately only has himself to blame.
Can’t complain about that fightback though, showed real guts to get something from the game.

March 26, 2026 at 6:18 am #318333the error was no one followed their runner they all focused on the big striker who was stood offside but didn’t go for the ball. Jones’s is asset he is better under pressure late on. Our defending is not going to improve this season – just need forward play to better than opponents. Will need good news before 5pm today as 3 loan players have now gone back.

March 26, 2026 at 8:06 am #318335Congratulations Iron. That was a performance to warm the cockles of the heart. We played REAL football – intelligently. More of the same, please!
I do think that Rochdale’s side, overall, contained more quality than ours which makes our efforts last night look even better.
No real blame attaches to LJ, IMHO – but the hesitation in defence with their first goal did prove costly.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 26, 2026 at 8:27 am #318337After seeing Positivity Dave and Butler cuddling before the match, it almost put me off my apple crumble, just weird that PD..
Anyway, cannot be prouder of the team, to come back from 2 goals down to draw against top of the table Rochdale was awesome..
Negative for me was Ewing, he seems to be strolling, not doing much, and his replacement Beestin was on fire, so start Beestin, and put Ewing on the bench. Ewing is looking to his new club next season..
Jones the winger does not beat players, not impressed..
And is Connor ‘ the second coming ‘ Smith, still at the club..
Angry with Rochdale after there first goal. decided to put water bottles out for every player to have a drink and waste time, the ref should not allow that..March 26, 2026 at 11:05 am #318346Harsh on Ewing. Thought he did okay. Not amazing but good enough. Struggled more second half. He started Alfie the previous game and he wasn’t the best. Seems to be playing better from the bench. Harsh on Jones too. He beat players numerous times from what I saw, but not as effective as previous games. You’re a hard one to please Bhuna.

March 26, 2026 at 12:22 pm #318352Yep agree about Jones DM I like what I see, pace to burn, skilful and beats his man most times. He was up against a very good fullback last night but Jones gave him a hard time IMO.

March 26, 2026 at 1:04 pm #318357Final ball often let him down but he shows promise. Injects a bit of pace which obviously Roberts and Whitehall don’t have.
The pace was the only thing that made a good back 4 look nervous – apart from the gift they handed to Roberts.
The young American lad also had them scrambling for much the same reason.
NL defences don’t like facing genuine pace including ours.March 26, 2026 at 1:24 pm #318360Final ball did let him down a bit last night but their defence hated him running at them. Danger man.
March 26, 2026 at 2:31 pm #318366From what everyone says would seem we played really well last night, hope everyone can be a bit more positive on our chances in the playoffs now, it’s all down to which team turns up on the day.
And even then you can win without, we were a one half team last season in the playoffs, the season before Boston hardly deserved it.
On the crowd last night I thought it was poor to crowds we’ve had before, can’t blame fans the footy over a long period doesn’t encourage bums on seats and not everyone is happy with just the 3 points, manager fan comments won’t have helped either. And the begging bowl mentality that’s crept in.
Casuals want to buy into something with positivity. -
