Fans on their forum think there is little chance of this going ahead given the state of their pitch and the rain in the forecast leading up to and during the match.
They have already cancelled a game this season against Southend due to a waterlogged pitch.

November 3, 2025 at 2:16 pm #312736Doesn’t sound like it’s going to be going ahead if their club statement is anything to go by:

November 3, 2025 at 2:28 pm #312737Very impressed with Rochdale sending an email out to those who’ve bought tickets keeping everyone informed.

November 3, 2025 at 11:45 pm #312758Don’t think a postponement will do us any harm, especially after the exertion at blackoool and still carrying a few knocks.
Be good to see a few more hundred decide to go, think the the amount sold was 550 earlier

November 4, 2025 at 11:22 am #312763Further inspection at 2pm.
Majority of the pitch playable ground staff working on the rest, they say they can’t postpone on the weather forecast even though it shows the heavier rain around kickoff, guess we’re going on a bus ride.November 4, 2025 at 12:02 pm #312764Not risking it being postponed at 7pm or on arrival. Took them up on their refund offer, payable on completion of the match, whenever that may be.
November 4, 2025 at 12:53 pm #312765Tempted to do a Deery and take the refund and just rebook the likely new date. It’s looking like a trip over in the rain for it to be called off at seven. Or even worse an abandonment.
The counter argument is DAZN 1 camera stream is no way to watch a first vs second clash when you could actually attend.
Why don’t football authorities ever allow common sense to influence a decision.

November 4, 2025 at 1:15 pm #312768Can’t understand why they can’t call the game off due to the forecast, the local ref did against Brackley when pitch was frozen and temperatures weren’t likely to improve overnight.
But heho if we end up with chips from Willbutts lane all’s not lost, ( only joking I’ll be mightily pissed off).
We’ll just keep the tickets for the new date, was with Rochdale fans hoping Tamworth won last night so it could have been played on a free Saturday but now it’s Tamworth at 5,30 on the 6th.November 4, 2025 at 1:36 pm #312772Rochdale is the place where one of the pubs do a Jagerbomb challenge so if it’s called off late, something for the fans to do.
November 4, 2025 at 1:50 pm #312773Appreciate it’s not as simple a decision for those who already have travel booked and, god forbid, a night in rainy Rochdale.
November 4, 2025 at 2:32 pm #312775It’s off.
November 4, 2025 at 2:52 pm #312776Common sense prevails. Obviously wanted to try, or be seen to be trying to get it on, as the authorities will be asking questions if they carry on postponing fixtures due to a bit of rain
November 4, 2025 at 3:31 pm #312777I think they wanted it on, getting a backlog of fixtures again like last season now extra 4 midweek games to fit in, the Boreham wood game moved for fa cup commitment.
Looks like February before they can fit it in unless we both lose in the fa trophy then saturday 10th Jan would be free for both.November 4, 2025 at 4:25 pm #312780If the Rochdale pitch is too bad how many more postponements will there be in a wet winter. They must be worried about how the fixtures can be arranged before the end of the of the season. This should favour us
November 4, 2025 at 5:21 pm #312782Whoops 9th of December free as well.
November 4, 2025 at 5:41 pm #312783Yes, the weather should be better then!

November 4, 2025 at 7:12 pm #312786Quite amusing the Dale fan complaining about Scunny fans calling them tinpot on clubs X feed when most seem to be Bury and Oldham fans
November 4, 2025 at 8:14 pm #312788Must be bad, on their forum many are suggesting playing games at other grounds, Bury because of a plastic pitch or man city’s women’s ground, wonder whether they’d consider playing at Gainsborough.
November 4, 2025 at 9:23 pm #312790Best not get too cocky, our pitch may not see the winter out either.

November 4, 2025 at 10:14 pm #312792Aye, people in glass houses…or a cattle field. ‘The New Show Ground’ might have been apt after all.

November 5, 2025 at 9:25 am #312793We play on a disgrace of a pitch every home game.
I would be surprised if we don’t have games off this winter due to weather conditionsNovember 5, 2025 at 10:49 am #312796Though drainage doesn’t appear to be an issue, as far as I can tell. Heavy rain appears to hold down the ruts and divots a bit?
November 5, 2025 at 11:41 am #312801Should ‘Spotland’ be renamed ‘The Wetlands’?
November 5, 2025 at 5:43 pm #312814The Crown Oil Slick Arena?
November 5, 2025 at 5:47 pm #312815Bogland?
November 5, 2025 at 9:48 pm #312825Bogshed
November 28, 2025 at 6:41 pm #313814They’ve been oven permission to put a new hybrid pitch down with new drainage, starting work on the 7th December lasting 4/5 weeks.
Evidently you can play on it straight away.
Looking at other venues to rearrange and play the 2 home games affected in that period.November 28, 2025 at 6:48 pm #313815Come in useful these rich owners – so long as they are not stupid.
November 28, 2025 at 8:06 pm #313818Does that comply with EFL requirements?
November 28, 2025 at 8:23 pm #313819Yes Cass.
