Anybody know how many days / weeks this is likely to be after the semi or final, whichever is the last game for us?
April 27, 2025 at 4:35 pm #303561Are we allowed to guess?
April 27, 2025 at 4:54 pm #303563If you like. Just wondered when it usually is after the last game has been played.
April 27, 2025 at 5:07 pm #303564Usually middle of the week after the last game.
Time for a quick chat with each player – either this is the offer or thanks and goodbye. Then make it public Wednesday or Thursday.

April 27, 2025 at 5:15 pm #303565Thanks. Didn’t realise it was so soon after.
April 27, 2025 at 6:42 pm #303570Will the offers to the OOCs we want to keep depend on which league we’re in or will that not matter to the board?
Who will decide who we want to try and keep?
Who will be doing the contract negotiations?April 27, 2025 at 6:51 pm #303571Butler decided last season, saying Butterfield didn’t fit in with his plans and don’t we know it.
April 27, 2025 at 7:06 pm #303572Is Finley Shrimpton returning for the playoffs?

He’s got a trophy to win at Wembley first

Who will be doing the contract negotiations?Think it will depend on what budget we can afford, a lot of the players signed under WHAM paid little regard to that, surprise surprise.

That final is on 11th.
If we get to our final, that would be 17th.
Fingers crossed.April 28, 2025 at 9:48 am #303577Usually middle of the week after the last game.
Last year it was 10th May (two weeks after the Play Off semi-final on April 27th).

If I recall correctly, the Club made Butterfield three contract offers, which were rejected by the player – so I’m not quite sure how that squares with what you’ve suggested Butler said.
The issue was Butterfield moving onto the post-Hilton wage structure but kicking off about being on less money than other players (who were still contractually on the Hilton wage structure). His Mrs sold it on social media as Butler and the Club being insulting to Butterfield when, in fact, he was insulting the Club by not accepting the drive to cut coat according to cloth and she was insulting the Club by not mentioning it.

April 28, 2025 at 10:37 am #303582If we don’t go up, it’ll be the fans retained list that counts.
That is, those that will be purchasing a season ticket and those POTD punters.
I think attendances are bound to dip if we’re still in NLN next season.
I’d guess they will be 750 to a 1,000 less if we aren’t in the NL.April 28, 2025 at 10:43 am #303583If we don’t go up, it’ll be the fans retained list that counts.

April 28, 2025 at 12:12 pm #303586Just above minimum wage would seem very insulting to me even if it was a new post Hilton wage structure.

So, you’d accept a new wage structure being put in place but wouldn’t accept it applying to you?

Thanks for clarifying – I did think it was a few weeks after the last match

Wasn’t the ‘just above minimum wage’ claim from his wife on social media too? Seem to recall that but may have got it wrong. No idea what the actual truth is on this aspect.

Hasn’t history demonstrated that attendances are dictated by results and league position more than which division we’re in (the ceiling reached at Championship level for instance)?
I think Rene’s projected decrease in general terms is a bit drastic. Depending where we are in NLN (if that’s the case).I wouldn’t anticipate such a huge drop off.

I’d suggest that when Mrs Butterfield said “just above minimum wage” it was a deliberate downplay to mislead supporters into thinking he’d been offered £12 an hour.
April 28, 2025 at 1:40 pm #303592It certainly created ‘a stink’ on socials

It did, and it was really unseemly of Mrs B.

I just think that the ‘novelty’ factor of the NLN will have well and truly worn off if we are playing in it next season.
A reduced playing budget will probably result in players of an even lesser ability than those on the books now.
This will probably mean that we are one of many in with a chance / hope of promotion rather than ‘nailed on certs’ (Oops!)
It could well be Captain Pugwashesque rather than HM Piss The League next season.
That’s why I think we will see shrinkage.April 28, 2025 at 2:25 pm #303595Sticking up for ones husband isn’t unseemly.
Why would she lie about just above the minimum wage, she also said it was a 65% wage cut so you do the maths.April 28, 2025 at 2:32 pm #303596Sticking up for ones husband isn’t unseemly.

I didn’t say she lied, I said “deliberate downplay”.
“Just above” the minimum wage could be £19.50 per hour as much as it could be £12 per hour… etc etc.
April 28, 2025 at 3:35 pm #303598how many hours a week do players work? the average is widely regarded as 30 per week .I doubt any of our players are genuinely near minimum wage
April 28, 2025 at 3:52 pm #303600No idea what Butterfields injury is but he’s not played for Gateshead since before Christmas.
Only made 19 appearances this season.
Whilst we managed 1 extra point and exactly the same outcome without him. Remind me who were the prophets of doom that predicted mid table at best without Butterfield, Ogle and Elliott.
