Good pre-match interview with Andy. I honestly think he’s the most intelligent manager / head coach we’ve had for years. Don’t let the delivery and accent deceive you or the a-hole lazy naysayers tell you he’s ‘thick’. Absolute rubbish. Listen to what he says and his detail and comprehension of the game and what he’s working with. I’m not saying the man’s a genius but I know one thing: he’s a clever bloke and coach. Compare that to the waffle and flakiness of Dean. I’m reassured we’ve got Butler leading the pack and I understand what Michelle saw in him to offer that extension that was much criticised. Look beyond the accent and interview delivery. He’s got something good.

That’s the way the world is DM, people treating the previous manager as some sort of Non league mourinho as he was a lad banter merchant.

‘We won didn’t we’ Detail and comprehension of the game lol.

‘I dont want you to come to games if you’re going to criticize players performance’

Contract extension now is it? I thought everyone bought into the narrative that he hadn’t signed a contract so there was no extension. Well at least that’s what Michelle told us.

Those quotes are just examples of how his mind works, impulsive at times, and wearing his heart on his sleeve. Don’t judge A book by it’s cover. A fair number of players are thriving under his wing. You must see that? Campbell, Boyce, Evans, Ewing, Whitehall, Howe, Denton, Beestin (now he seems to be over long COVID), Starbuck, Carlton, etc

The man has to be given credit for the many things he has got right.
After ‘the 2024 Autumn blip’ – he then managed the team through to promotion and superbly so.
His recruitment has been decent; the improvement seen in most of the players still with the club from last season has been impressive; his tactics have been sound.
At this point, I only have a single question mark.

The only question mark for me is the judgement of those fans who ranted last season

You’ve took that criticism to heart AWG, never had you down as a snowflake.

Agree Deerey with regards to Butler, continues to impress in many areas and clearly knows how to get a team playing for him.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few teams sniffing around if we are in/around the play offs in a couple of months.

No respect for the club putting out the ‘Preview Wealdstone’ got us down having played 6 games having 12 points and achieved a draw at Eastleigh.
What’s wrong with them, if the NL have already decide the result is going to stand then shouldn’t they tell the fans first, before putting out that dross.

I have always liked AB. First met him in the queue for a pie in the away end at Southend on a wet Tuesday night many years ago ( when he was travelling with the squad but not in the matchday selection). He spoke eloquently about pies! As people say, he seems clever enough, he has a football brain and when he tempers his bright ideas to fit the squad he has to work with (5 at the back!), he will be a very good manager!

Come on PA – what kind of filling in the pie?

Based on the Wealdstone shenanigans yesterday it was probably shoulder of mutton.

For those that are interested, it was a “meat” pie. I use inverted coma’s because we have all experienced Football ground catering where the amount of meat can be questionable as to both quantity and animal of origin! I remember thinking that the Southend catering outlet had missed a trick not serving Jellied Eels. I recall having Black pudding and Mushy Peas at Bury!

No one should be subjected to jellied eels, ever. Satan’s spawn.

Another good interview with Butler. Love to hear it. Sounds like we need to get this emergency loan keeper sorted for Tuesday. Who might it be?
