Given our inexperienced GK situation ( Campbell and Watson) and our lack of skilful wing backs, 5 at the back may well be a necessity next season away at some of the better sides as we go to scrape a point ( and possibly, nick three!)Providing we don’t start playing it at home, especially against teams we should be beating, then to me, it will have served a purpose. I fully understand that playing it against Gainsborough Trinity (and losing!)would to some, appear daft, but if we really were disjointed and lacked cohesion, surely the players need the practice!
Putting aside whether or not the formation works and the problems of last year…
We’ve got 3 centre backs. And there isn’t another on the shopping list.
Judging by the GK signing even if there was in on the shopping list there’s not much left in the kitty.
4-4-2
Only a RB to come in. I wonder if it will be a RB who can cover CB.
I would rather he could cover as goalkeeper.
Didn’t Denton have a go there last season? Only option would be to play 2 unless Rene is happy with Beck as cover at CB. Surely can’t play 3 CBs with no cover, far to risky.

Why would we need any cover ?. We have Campbell as no 1 with Big Rory Watson Who’s played 14 games in the 3 seasons he’s been away from the club.
Would more could we ask for ?

From the short clips I’ve seen, Beck’s doing well. He seems much more switched on and alert than last season. Well done so far son.
If you had seen Beck at Gainsborough, you wouldn’t have posted your last comment,Rene.
Oh dear. I guess short clips can be deceiving?
