See the Club are asking for volunteers to replace divots etc on the pitch at half time and after the final whistle
Guess the pitch is not going to improve anytime soon !September 19, 2025 at 1:16 pm #311356At the Podcast Forum recently George Aitkenhead said the club had been told the pitch would improve after they had raised issues regarding the surface that the fans had raised concerns over.
Can imagine he will not be impressed and looking for answers !

September 19, 2025 at 3:16 pm #311367Amateur hour. This is what happens when you try to do things on the cheap and sack your ground staff. Only going to get worse as the temperatures drop towards winter.

No, the ground staff were not sacked, I’ve no idea where you picked up that bollox from!
At the end of last season, one retired and the other retired due to I’ll health.
North Lincs council are responsible for the pitch now.September 19, 2025 at 7:32 pm #311377Amateur hour. This is what happens when you try to do things on the cheap and sack your ground staff. Only going to get worse as the temperatures drop towards winter.

North Lincs council are responsible for the pitch now.Jesus!
A football club that doesn’t nurture its own work surface.Would Ferrari have Charlie Browns as their pit team?
Sounds a bit shambolic?
September 19, 2025 at 9:18 pm #311380but remember it’s better for the club not to own its own ground.

Only if Snoopy was the spanner dog.

But he said it and now will have to own it ! Now he has to do something.
September 20, 2025 at 6:13 pm #311409Pitch looked decent to me.
Was cutting up a little bit but it’s had a fair bit of water.
Fingers crossed it gets the required TLC to see it through winter.
September 21, 2025 at 5:13 am #311420Time for an artificial pitch? Grants / funding available.
September 21, 2025 at 8:08 am #311422I don’t like the idea of an artificial pitch. Turf or mudbath for me.

Noooooo!
Not if we harbour hopes of getting back into the Football League.

September 21, 2025 at 10:43 am #311434Getting an artificial pitch would say to fans we are staying non league a while as they are not allowed in the EFL.
I am fairly confident that is not a message the board will want to give…

Good lord, no!
September 21, 2025 at 10:49 am #311436Did the increasing rain yesterday keep the divots down?
September 21, 2025 at 10:57 am #311438The pitch stood up pretty well yesterday TBF a couple of large divots were stamped back into place by our lads, indeed AB instructed Scales to do exactly that when a large section of turf got “ excavated “ opposite the dugouts second half, there is a gradual improvement taking place.
September 24, 2025 at 9:38 pm #311546Well it certainly hasn’t held up tonight
September 24, 2025 at 10:47 pm #311552Yep it cut up bad second half, two games in four days certainly took its toll. Ten day break before the next home game which on observations tonight is a good thing, it will be another long season of nurturing by the looks of things.

This is the same George Aitkenhead who appeared on Iron hour podcast stating that no deal was to be done with fc100,000. Fast forward 2/3 months and the board were on the verge of signing off on a deal ?
September 25, 2025 at 8:23 am #311561It was Sharp that said there was no deal at that present time. George kind of contradicted what he said in a muffled answer.
September 25, 2025 at 8:26 am #311562Pitch seemingly can’t take frequent use. How’s it going to root now it’s getting colder?
September 25, 2025 at 9:44 am #311564It’s not, only going to get worse from here on in. Pretty miffed that lessons clearly weren’t learnt from last season’s pitch/beach fiasco.
Had a flick through the highlights of all the other NL games this week and ours was by far the worst.
