April 25, 2025 at 2:23 pm #303378Convicted fraudster, and recipient of a letter from the FA warning him of his conduct.
What could possibly go wrong with this fit and proper person as an owner?2 users thanked author for this post.
April 25, 2025 at 2:23 pm #303379What are we predicting then, folks? That the Cricket Club and the Football Club won’t exist a year from now?

What could possibly go wrong with this fit and proper person as an owner? It’ll all come out in the wash.
April 25, 2025 at 2:23 pm #303381Apologies I read it wrong it wasn’t 80% who voted him in, just a vast majority.

April 25, 2025 at 2:37 pm #303383Ah well, they’ve made their bed, hope it’s comfortable. They can’t say they weren’t warned.
Predictions Apollo? Who knows. Wouldn’t put anything past him. Nothing would suprise me. 1878 Club? Cash only? Burner accounts and doxing? Already mentioned needing to restructure in the supporter email. Training facilities aren’t good enough apparently (oh wait…), issues with the cricket club and boundaries etc.

April 25, 2025 at 3:00 pm #303384I wonder who he’ll foster as the scapegoat with Matlock like with Bury AFC or Bru. There’s the cricket club, I guess, but the divide and conquer strategy will need some on the fanbase to be the enemy tormenting poor Dave.

April 25, 2025 at 3:21 pm #303385He could move them to Ilkeston, well it’s not like he hasn’t tried it before.

April 25, 2025 at 3:45 pm #303389Should be fine at his level, The scrutiny of a business with 100 employees was clearly to much for someone selling season tickets for cash
April 25, 2025 at 4:05 pm #303390Ah well, they’ve made their bed, hope it’s comfortable. They can’t say they weren’t warned.
Predictions?
Belper and Buxton to be approached for Groundsharing.
Belper
April 25, 2025 at 4:26 pm #303391For one of the others to share Matlock’s ground or for Matlock to play at one of the others?
Guessing it’ll be for Matlock to play elsewhere.
Stick 20 or 30 new builds up where the ground ‘was’?
April 25, 2025 at 4:38 pm #303392And who’s being selling season tickets for cash for the last 2 seasons 64.
Especially when they tried at one point during this season for only allowing card payments for any other purchases at the club, had to back down once pointed out to them not many kids have bank cards to purchase at the food outlets.
Another ill thought out stance when weeks later they put the catering back to an outside enterprise when the payment method would be sod all to do with the club.
Beggars belief really why create the bad vibe in the first place.
April 25, 2025 at 4:45 pm #303393Aye and we’re no longer in trouble with the taxman, unlike before
April 25, 2025 at 4:49 pm #303394Do they have to pay in cash 64.

A lot of the youngsters round my way have “Go Henry” or “Rooster Money” Cards. Good idea stops the local scum trying to rob them.
They work on offline terminals as well1 user thanked author for this post.
April 25, 2025 at 5:27 pm #303396If it works for them great, but still good to have the flexibility.
Grandsons gripe is most corner shop type establishments have a minimum spend so limited outlets to use.
April 25, 2025 at 5:41 pm #303397Bury… failed
Scunthorpe… failed
Matlock… ?April 25, 2025 at 5:42 pm #303398Apologies I read it wrong it wasn’t 80% who voted him in, just a vast majority.
