Hopefully this doesn’t mean whitehall is injured and is maybe an opportunity to send beck out on loan to gain confidence.

Have a feeling it’s bad news regarding the Whitehall injury and he’s being brought in as cover.

TSF should have signed the offer and he would be a league regular. Seemed to led on by a league club and then nothing happened. Hopefully he grabs the opportunity.

Just to update about ‘old boys’ said previously Kai Corbett was playing for Chelmsford City, well they have just signed a certain Mr Lyle Taylor. Was released by Colchester and signed the same week – home debut and scored 3 in a 6 Nil win.

No news on Whitehall but at least we know today is the birthday of Steveland Angus and Andy Keeley. Also Richie Ward who appears to have passed me by.

Whose place would he be taking?

Surely if Whitehall is injured then we should play Howe through the middle

Richie Ward was a local lad who played one game at inside left in February 1959 in a 2-1 home defeat v Fulham.

Stevland and Andy both have the distinction of being the second best Scunny players with their respective surnames.

Perhaps Butler wants more goal scoring options on the bench? None of the regular subs have scored in the league yet.

AB is right to seek new signings. Both the substitutions during league games and the NLN games show that we have 14 decent outfield players. We are particularly struggling for a back up holding and a back up creative midfielder, as well as options up front with Carlton struggling for form. Dreze and Chapman can’t cut it and I would send them back. Beck, Brogan and Dawsonh don’t provide with options either!

PHIL A. – Do you mean Chadwick, you mention a Chapman. But is he getting a chance of a run of games ?

I didn’t think he was too bad last game he got a start – considering his limited minutes

Hopefully Beck will go out on loan and not come back

Wish him all the best but he needs moving on. Looks shot to me and struggles to even get around the pitch. People keep replying with “we need to play to his strengths” but even when he comes off the bench he struggles to hold on to the ball because he struggles to cover any ground to even get to it in the first place. Beck reminds me of the shot version of ” THE TREE” the one and only Chris Iwelumo who looked like he used to wear lead boots.

I just hope he’s been brought in as competition off the bench and not solely because Whitehall is crocked.

We need a capable GK next. I did get carried away that “dracula” Mr Watson was a devout Christian as he appeared to love crosses but that’s backfired these past two games.

I’m sure now that very solid 1st game was a rare occurrence. We seriously need a more capable GK. Seems a shame to self sabotage this season when our first 10 are as good as anything in this league.

The other outfield players deserve better than drac and Campbell.

I was optimistic that Beck would thrive in the NL. Doesn’t seem to be materialising. There’s still too much focus on the keepers I see. Just to be clear awaywego, that’s an observation and opinion and not a claim of absolute truth.

On observation the keepers have only been mentioned in the last post by WG, and of course you Deerey, the main focus as been about Beck and Whitehall.

If you follow the Mantra, Attack is the Best form of defence, then, to a certain extent, having a couple of just about OK GK’s fighting it out for the number 1 slot should be fine this year if we are considering mid table safety the aim. However attack is only our best form of defence when we have our best 10 outfielders on the pitch and our scoring/creative 4 of Roberts, Whitehall, Ewing and Howe are on the pitch. What contributors are highlighting is that the GK’s and back up strike force /creative midfielders are nowhere good enough to sustain a promotion challenge and should long term injury rob us of one of the creative 4, we could struggle to survive outside the relegation places!

Disagree. Neither are currently good enough. Watson is showing why he’s only played 4 first team games in 3 years and Campbell is a project. I’d rather we had a capable goalkeeper and I’d rather he learnt his trade out on loan.

Our first 10 is as good as anything in this league, we really should be fielding a GK which compliments the other 10 players.

Rory’s made one mistake – ought to have either caught it or parried it over. A mistake could have come from a more experienced keeper on numerous occasions. I could just as easily criticise the back line for failing to deal with late crosses, but I won’t because the whole team sitting deep late on invites it. It’s a team game not an individual pursuit. Both Rory and Maison are good enough to start and compliment the team.

You, along with a few others had your mind made up before a ball was kicked.

You may turn out to be correct, but it’s a sad state of affairs when people start gunning for players in an attempt to be proven right.

Even saw some comments laying blame at the door of Rory for the Wealdstone goal when he had nothing to do with it.

We have conceded 7 goals in the league and 6 in two cup games. Does that not indicate that we should be asking what is the defence doing whilst Rory and Mo have been letting all these goals in. They are supposed to be the last line of defence, it obvious that in every single game we have played the defence have let us down.

May well go all season without a clean sheet .. Did comment pre season i thought we would be involved in quite a few 3-2s , 3-3s 2-2s 4-3s etc so … still not expecting many 0-0s this season.
