There were some prize idiots in the Threadgold stand today. Chief amongst them were those who stepped way over the line of what is acceptable, in their shouts at Robbie Savage. I think there was an announcement over the tannoy basically warning people to pack the abuse in.
Special mention also for the absolute gobshite middle-aged woman I heard talking really loudly on the phone about having had “three fucking bottles of wine before I fucking got here” and then (when her fella returned from the toilet), the pair of them shouting dogs abuse to Savage (he’s a “fucking cunt”, apparently) and continuing with the general effing and jeffing at anyone and everything. All followed up by being very rude to the couple with a child sitting in front of her when they called her out. I was sitting a few seats away and, love, you embarrassed yourselves – your behaviour wasn’t pretty and neither are you.
January 24, 2026 at 10:30 pm #315643Didn’t the stewards do anything once you brought it to their attention.
Abuse does seem to follow him around.January 24, 2026 at 10:36 pm #315644Thankfully none of that in the Mortz
January 24, 2026 at 10:39 pm #315645Didn’t hear the foul mouthed woman but in the section near me in the Threadgold we have a regular shouter affectionately named Portland Bill because he has a voice like a foghorn. He regularly gives the ref in every home game a lot of verbal but it’s all good natured, Savage got his treatment today but there was no bad language just very loud winding up and banter. Fair play to Savage I thought he handled the banter very well but the swearing is totally out of order IMO. Nice to see Savage go straight to AB at the final whistle and embrace him no doubt congratulating him on the win.

January 24, 2026 at 10:43 pm #315646Using Savage as an excuse to behave badly is lame. I’ve yet to see or hear anything he’s done that merits the worst of it. Met him once at another non-league ground and he came across as thoroughly decent and convivial.
January 25, 2026 at 3:40 am #315655“you going to the game To hear our fans embarrassing themselves chanting about Robby Savage ,as if he’s not heard everything?”

January 26, 2026 at 10:57 pm #315716I don’t really get the vitriol towards Robbie Savage. Sure, he’s a ‘character’ and many characters can be arseholes (e.g. Joey Barton, Phil Brown), but he seems to be enthusiastic and quite complementary towards others going from his words and actions towards Butler. Hardly the big headed, prima donna people make him out to be.
I know Macclesfield fans would probably take umbridge at how he left them and raided their squad, but he isn’t the first manager to do that and I don’t see why that would sully his reputation among Scunny fans over the other, less high profile managers, who have done similar.

January 26, 2026 at 11:31 pm #315717According to someone on the Facebook group, those who question calling Savage a paedo are ‘woke libtards’. Deep critical thinking at it’s best.
January 27, 2026 at 5:48 am #315718He is paid to poke for a reaction on 606, that doesn’t make him anything more than that. At a loss to know why you would feel the need to throw insults, other than you want to look stupid yourself for pointless ranting. His post match comments make him look sensible and understanding of people and the game and a small number of our fans the opposite.

January 27, 2026 at 7:04 am #315719You would hope some of the biggest supporters of that kind of behaviour would know better. Sadly not. That said, I’ve seen a lot of criticism of it across social media from Iron fans too.
January 27, 2026 at 10:26 am #315721Anyone manager or player for that matter who gives it large will get abuse, no more than our Danny Whitehall himself.
Can’t understand why you would think otherwise.
Didn’t Savage run the full length of the stand in his celebration when FGR equalised against us at their place, course he’s going to get dogs abuse when he came here.
He’ll continue to get the abuse at every game just more so at away games, maybe they fa could add abusive Savage chants to the growing list of chants they’ve banned.
Now let’s see what chants did we used to sing ourselves back in the day, those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.January 27, 2026 at 10:41 am #315722According to someone on the Facebook group, those who question calling Savage a paedo are ‘woke libtards’. Deep critical thinking at it’s best.
Ah, SUFG is back to Normal… 112 Replies…
January 27, 2026 at 11:08 am #315723i fail to see how celebrating a goal is a reason to abuse someone by calling them a paedo. Fine abuse wind up merchants but give it a bit more thought than that.

January 27, 2026 at 12:40 pm #315724Awaywego in classic ‘missing the point’ mode.
I’ve no issue with anyone effin and jeffin, he probably expects that. Do you think he deserves to be called a paedo / interferes with children? Get a grip.
Moreover, no one with an ounce of respectability wants to hear it or be around it, hence the tannoy announcement.
January 27, 2026 at 12:55 pm #315726For my own clarification would I be right in thinking:-
Savage is a w****r is acceptable because he might be.
Savage is a p***o is unacceptable because he isn’t.
Where is the line that shouldn’t be crossed?
(This might also help certain sections of supporters)January 27, 2026 at 1:06 pm #315727At the end of the day, the problem is with the supporters and their lack of judgement, not Savage.

January 27, 2026 at 1:38 pm #315728I get the point Deerey I just don’t agree that’s all.
Savage is a paedo is just a chant and that’s all it is, now some individual shouting Savage your a paedo that’s not ok imo.
Like I say chants nowadays are no worse than what we used to sing back in the day, don’t get me wrong the paedo one is old hat and had it’s time, again imo but each to there own.
I like nothing better than a abusive chant even if it’s at scunnys expense, same for most teams I expect.
Take Saturday Preston fans warned again (evidently they got a letter from the fa back in 2024 about it with all the threats of fines and point deductions) before the Middlesbrough game Tangerine Tangerine your mother’s a crackwhore your dad is a queen, to a Gallagher tune evidently, obviously aimed at their local rivals Blackpool, points deduction or a fine come on.
Most Blackpool fans seem to accept it’s just local rivalry and take it with good heart, wind down the being offensive or offended shite.January 27, 2026 at 1:59 pm #315730So a group of people abusing another group of people is OK but an individual abusing another individual isn’t?
I’m getting more confused now.January 27, 2026 at 2:24 pm #315731Never mind.
January 27, 2026 at 5:59 pm #315738“Savage is a paedo is just a chant and that’s all it is,”
No it isn’t, it’s slander.

January 27, 2026 at 6:38 pm #315740Not in a hyperbolic reference it isn’t.
More or less what I’ve been alluding to whenever these abusive chants come up.January 27, 2026 at 7:16 pm #315744Unfortunately Awaywego, your enjoyment of terrace abuse without any line drawn for the abusers to not go beyond can’t be self policed by the abuse shouters themselves.
Savage came across very well in his post match interviews and didn’t want to make a big deal about the abuse but he will probably get the last laugh over our morons if we get a big fine or points deduction, both of which would be deserved.January 27, 2026 at 7:25 pm #315745I get the point Deerey I just don’t agree that’s all.

You’re going to have to explain that for the thickos amongst us!
