October 5, 2025 at 4:13 pm #311952Should have started with Whitehall and Howe yesterday, hopefully a win against Morecambe after yesterday’s theatricals from Carlisle, especially Kelly upfront, who laughed when Boyce got sent off

October 5, 2025 at 4:49 pm #311953Can’t imagine we’ll come up against any team that will have benched their 2 highest scoring forwards, this season next season or any season for that matter, unless it’s in a cup competition.

October 5, 2025 at 5:05 pm #311956It was a puzzling decision but Butler has made enough good decisions this season to get a free pass on that one.
Just watched the highlights which confirmed my view that Watson had a poor game yesterday. Very much the kind of performances that were commonplace last time he was here. In my view he has played well enough before yesterday to get a pass on yesterday but he was fortunate Carlisle were not good enough to further punish his errors.
It’s unfair of course but keepers can only get away with 2 or 3 poor games in a season.

October 5, 2025 at 7:17 pm #311965Agree MKI.
Watson’s positioning was woeful yesterday. 2nd half he was so lucky.
It’s like as if they don’t watch the flight of the ball.
He was more interested on whom was in front of him than watching the ball being crossed.I thought we’d be a mid table team before the season started.
I actually believe with the way AB has set his stall out and the players whom he’s brought in this season we will be in the play-offs no doubt and could easily push higher. And personally if he had the budget for the last part of the spine would have been to acquire a GK.
We look a very decent side.

October 5, 2025 at 9:34 pm #311969A refreshing take on it, without the need for disparaging and disrespectful sleights.

October 6, 2025 at 9:22 am #311973Once Boyce got his 1st yellow they put more passes to players near him and looking for the 2nd yellow. This is something we rarely do and I do not understand why.
Get them on a yellow and pressure them immediately and as often as possible. Starts to make others look to cover for their team mate and makes them alter their shape.

October 6, 2025 at 11:56 am #311977Thought AB was meaning total Morecambe players signed up when he mentioned 32 on Saturday evening but I counted 31 first teamers on their website info, 19 under 18’s and 18 in the women’s team, blimey that’s a good investment from the new owners.
October 6, 2025 at 12:12 pm #311979I’d assume a lot are on short term contracts and will move on as the team is strengthened
October 6, 2025 at 12:26 pm #311982I see Joe Nuttall has signed for Morecambe, wonder if the fans will remember when he was here and gave our fans as much as they gave him a few years back?
Good player, hopefully not as good now.October 6, 2025 at 2:07 pm #311986Not sure he’ll be playing. Doesn’t seem to have been in the squad since early September
October 6, 2025 at 2:25 pm #311988Didn’t play very often when he was here. Even when he was on the pitch.

October 6, 2025 at 3:51 pm #311992Blame him in the main for relegation from the NL, going so we’ll beat Yeovil playing Maidenhead off the park for 20 mins he misses a golden opportunity from an header, next thing we know we’re bloody 3-0 down, Goals and chances change games and fortunes and that knocked the stuffing out of us and we never recovered all season.
His goals hardly counted for anything.October 6, 2025 at 4:53 pm #311998I blame Swann and Hilton for relegation to NLN, more than the playing and coaching staff.

October 6, 2025 at 8:14 pm #312008Swann carries the whole can for getting us into National League and then NLN.
We can and should blame Hilton for many things but our demise into the 6th tier is not one of them. Nor are the players or managers of Swann’s last 4 years to blame. Not even a lazy waste of talent like Nuttall.

October 6, 2025 at 8:31 pm #312009Morecambe to score first, followed by 6 iron strikes.
October 7, 2025 at 2:26 am #312024Measly 16/1 on a 4-1 Scunny win so adding Morecambe to score first bumped it to 25/1 ..
AND THERE GOES ANOTHER TENNER !!Interesting to see the attendance number .. i reckon be around the 3,700 mark.

Never change!
October 7, 2025 at 8:03 am #312027Morecambe will come to scrap for a point and is possible to steal 3. I would expect similar tactics to Carlisle on Saturday, but probably not the skill levels to pull it off. We need to start with Whitehall and Howe, Dawson and TSF ( if Hull have given permission) could start in the cup game against Kings Lynn , and if TSF is not permitted to play, Carlton is in need of a game. I think we will win, and at the end with goals to spare, but half time could well be 0-0 or 0-1.
October 7, 2025 at 8:58 am #312029Can agree with most of that but Carlton’s not done enough to merit a start IMO Phil.
October 7, 2025 at 9:26 am #312030Carlton is not the most gifted of players, but is capable of scoring cracking goals( just look at last season),I know what you mean Derry, but I like Carlton for his 100% effort and commitment, that cannot be doubted.
October 7, 2025 at 9:57 am #312031Carlton is well capable of scoring goals at NLN level and had proved that with ourselves and Chorley.
If we really don’t think he’s good enough to play against the Linnets then surely he would need shipping out on a rest of season loan.
There would be plenty of takers in NLN or NLS and a few in our league also.
October 7, 2025 at 10:53 am #312032Probably misread the post about Carlton. I thought it was a suggestion to play him tonight. Nothing against him starting v KL. I certainly wouldn’t call him ‘shit’ or suggest loaning him out to ‘The Dog & Duck’ though.
October 7, 2025 at 11:03 am #312033Nor would most on here Deery. You can find plenty that would on FB & X though.
Probably why so many of us don’t go there anymore.
October 7, 2025 at 12:28 pm #312037Both those claims are from Matt E on the last two Bru podcasts MKI. Are you a listener? The last Iron Hour podcast was more reasonable about our keeper situation (thought it worth enduring the bantz and lad jokes to see if any of t’other lot are also losing their heads about it-it appears not).
October 7, 2025 at 12:58 pm #312040Lapsed listener of the podcast since it became very irregular and turned into almost a Matt Ellis monologue.
Did the Iron Hour one once but not a fan of the forced bantz.

Can only send players out on loan if any club is interested in taking any on loan.
