2-0 up against Man utd
August 27, 2025 at 8:48 pm #310487Enjoyable watch. Up the Mariners! Had upset written all over it. 45 mins for Amorim to save his arse.
August 27, 2025 at 8:51 pm #310488“Are you Scunthorpe in disguise?” being chanted. Though the commentators thought it was Stockport in the chant.
August 27, 2025 at 8:54 pm #310489Lol, I missed that. Good to hear we still mean something to them.

August 27, 2025 at 9:06 pm #310491It’s so hard to watch. I want both sides to lose.

August 27, 2025 at 9:11 pm #310492Seems to be a fair number of Iron fans supporting the Cods tonight on social media. Loving the pouring rain. Very symbolic.

August 27, 2025 at 9:15 pm #310494Well the Mancs are used to playing in pouring rain so that’s not an excuse they can use. Got to say as much as I want Grimsby to fail in their league games , any team that can beat Man U on the night gets my vote, so funny but there’s a long way to go yet.

August 27, 2025 at 9:18 pm #310495TBH – I’d rather the Cods win than Man Utd.
IT’s not Man Utd I despise but rather the scores of people – mebbe hundreds of folk – I’ve met in my life who declare themselves Man Utd fans – and ignore their local teams. Sickening glory seeking.
Trouble is, what was once just a Man U issue is now much broader.
I usually choose to shun all Premier League football. (So many reasons.)5 users thanked author for this post.
August 27, 2025 at 9:25 pm #310496Would this be one of the Cods most famous victories? Man U are so shite, beating them seems hardly a scalp these days.

August 27, 2025 at 9:46 pm #310499Ah.
August 27, 2025 at 10:18 pm #310501Lol, unbelievable Jeff! What a match. What a shoot out

August 27, 2025 at 10:19 pm #310502Well that was so funny on so many counts, congratulations to the Cods but the Mancs, oh dear me they are beyond awful, lol.

August 27, 2025 at 10:20 pm #310503And we should say thanks again to those Cods who contributed to our fundraising appeal. Great night for you!

August 27, 2025 at 10:32 pm #310504Strange irony the big money summer signings being the ones to miss the crucial penalties.

August 27, 2025 at 10:53 pm #310505Sesko. I’d be livid if we’d spent a huge fee on a new striker to spearhead the attack, and then he elected to take the 10th penalty.
August 27, 2025 at 11:02 pm #310506Keeper Pym did well and gave his back line confidence. We need someone like him. Good keepers make big differences.

August 27, 2025 at 11:11 pm #310507And he’s a Man U fan apparently ;)
August 28, 2025 at 12:07 am #310508The last penalty reminded me of our penalty shoot out at Milton Keynes.
August 28, 2025 at 6:50 am #310509Man Utd start with 5 defenders and Grimsby could have been out of sight at half time. Clearly nerds the advice of AB.
August 28, 2025 at 7:07 am #310510Butler could get a better song out of them. Entitled Prima Donna’s arguing and harassing the officials like spoilt brats
August 28, 2025 at 8:11 am #310512And he’s learned 5 at the back is not the only way to play football when your squad isn’t suited to it.
Unlike Amorin.
Beware the coach that thinks there’s only one way to play. See Rangers for further evidence.
August 28, 2025 at 8:13 am #310513To be fair to Amorin, at least he’s got enough class to actually turn up in person at Blundell Park. Unlike Ferguson when they played us.

August 28, 2025 at 8:35 am #310514What struck me was that while David Artell spent the whole game shouting and encouraging his team from his technical area, Amorim was sat playing with a virtual game on a magnet board in the dugout. I don’t think he left to watch even one of the penalties. Can’t imagine the difference in pay between these two, but I’m sure the Manchester board know they’re getting a good bang for their buck!
August 28, 2025 at 8:50 am #310516it will keep the United fans off here for a day or two, also they will have to concentrate on European glory now, but did they qualify
August 28, 2025 at 8:52 am #310518it will keep the United fans off here for a day or two, also they will have to concentrate on European glory now, but did they qualify
Are there any on here?
I reckon any decent fan will hate them more now ,giving the Cod filth something to Crow aboutAugust 28, 2025 at 8:53 am #310519it will keep the United fans off here for a day or two, also they will have to concentrate on European glory now, but did they qualify
Aye we didn’t have a contribution from Awaywego last night on this topic, bet he had a great night watching it,lol.
August 28, 2025 at 9:16 am #310520Donny away to Spurs, Lincoln home to Chelsea, Town away to Sheff Wed
When you take cup ties seriously

Certainly got to know the BP dugout well during pens. Not a good look.
