Scunthorpe United promoted in front of 9,086.
Makes the TV news. Nothing from the local paper.
Gone are the days of the special promotion supplement
Two bits about the roadworks on the motorway, before that Feb25 and Dec24 were the last 2 articles. Neither of them to do with the actual football. Pathetic.
See GTFC football page in the Telegraph for comparison.
Will be headlines in Non League Paper this weekend. Free to access online via PressReader app if you join North Lincs Library.
Anybody ever buy it? – Then STOP!
Don’t want to upset you les, I should have made it clear that I read online.
Perfectly forgivable, Cass.
Without wishing to defend the Telegraph too much (the online coverage is appalling unless you’re interested in who’s died recently or where mobile speed cameras will be), the print version does still offer some coverage, albeit not much.
For example, this week, in advance of the playoff final, there was a single page, mainly about Danny Whitehall.
Depending on where you live, you may be able to access it through library services – in Doncaster, BorrowBox provides free access to the Scunthorpe Telegraph and many other local and national newspapers – I’m not sure whether the North Lincs Library version mentioned above would do (it’s only recently appeared on BorrowBox).
There is, imho, still great value in having a printed newspaper in our town. Despite the flaws of ours, in general you just cannot beat the physical item. The terrible Telegraph website user experience means it just disappears into the online mush.
