Thought I’d give it a watch last night on BBC 2 as Saturday night telly is mostly dross anyway and I thought the majority of it stood up rather well after 40 years particularly the London concert. Thought the USA concert struggled with poor sound, probably due to it not being an enclosed venue like Wembley, acoustics and all that. Considering no act had a sound check before playing I thought most carried the sound off pretty good. Great to be reminded just how great a band Queen were live back in their pomp, really enjoyed their set, Freddie for me the best front man of all time, made Jagger look like a pub act, Dancing in The Street my arse
Know people who were at Wembley that day and they speak fondly about it.
It was never my cup of tea. Too much posturing and faux bonhomie for my liking.
Billed as the great hope for humanity. Didn’t quite work out that way though did it?
What the media and some of the organisers billed it as was never the issue really NI, governments of these poorly run countries and the many conflicts they find themselves in or actively encourage themselves are the reason hope for humanity isn’t working out. Once again it’s the powerful few who dictate the fate of the many, the world has plenty of powerful, vicious rich bastard’s piling the misery and desperation on the multitudes, history shows we don’t change that much over the centuries when it comes to controlling the population, usually for the worse and the powerfuls personal gain
