Sit 2nd bottom of the away table:

    23rd Leamington P16 W2 D4 L10 GF11 GA21 GD-10 Pts1O

    Of those 10 defeats:
    2-1 – 6 occasions
    1-0 – 4 occasions

Recently, we seem to keep throwing in a silly soft goal each game, therefore:

    Iron 2:1 Brakes
    HT 0-0
    Beestin, Roberts
    Att 3,789

A statement score would do wonders on and off the pitch. We have the weapons but they seem reluctant to shock their opponents with.

Time to start the run in.

Lovely day for it sunny and mild, will give the claret and blue gazelle’s a run out.

“Oh” for summer football, would like to see them give it a go when Saudi holds the world.

Very poor first half, better second, Leamington battled hard without offering to much.

But a win is a win move on to Alfreton, Roberts out of form at the moment 6 weeks ago he’d have buried the chance he had in the first half, but that’s ok for when he is back.

Oxford shipped 7 goals at home to Buxton, a couple of weeks ago 0-0 was a good point…

Was never a good point at Oxford, might sounds harsh but we need ruthless form to win the league.

Brackley away to Kings Lynn with us away to 16th placed Alfreton on tuesday, a perfect opportunity to get our noses ahead.

Didn’t see the game today but Torpey was mentioning the state of the pitch (in how bad it is) said it was affecting play. I’m almost grateful we therefore have 3 away games in a row now.

3 draws? A “good” point away won’t be good enough.

In truth a game best forgotten, first half a non event although we may have bagged a couple of goals. Second half as Awaywego said was much better and we should have won more comfortably than just the pen conversion. More concerning is the injuries that are creeping in but hopefully Alfie, Rose and Whitehall will be back fit again very soon, we need all our best players available going into the business end of the season. Today was all about taking the win and moving on, which we did.

    Close but no cigar.
    6-5 now (2-1 & 1-0 defeat scorelines)

19 games, one defeat sounds good but why arent we out of site at the top of the league? Simple Brackley lost 10 we lost 5 however Brackley drawn 4 us drawn 12. Draws do not win leagues!!

Of the 12 draws we would have been better off pushing for a win and losing 4 but winning 4.
Play with the Slot view, sometimes you have to risk losing to win. Taken too many ‘a good point’ towards our total.
Might be out total isn’t enough! The 2 games this week are pivotal, we need 6 points and hope Brackley don’t get 6. And if we don’t extend out lead at Kiddy net week then play off’s again!

Yesterday a decent result and keeps the unbeaten run going (all be it too many soft draws) BUT are current performances at a level that of a title winning side …. im not sure they are sadly to hit n miss and too many average halves as in yesterday.
If i had to put a lump of money on us it would not be promoted as champions but possibly sneak it via the playoffs… which in hindsight during the negative boring spell when ABs future in in doubt most would have taken.

Certainly not playing like a champion winning team far from it, but there’s still time, God knows how but we’re still in a good position but we’ve got to start burying more of the chances we create though.

I love to see good football, who doesn’t? Sadly for our club, in our present position, only results are important. If we get the occasional sight of some quality play that will be a bonus.

If the team had put just an average football performance all season we’d
be walking away with the league, but we haven’t there’s been to many abject performances like the first half yesterday and that’s why they got booed off at halftime not by many granted but some all of the same.

Totally with you now at this stage of the season it’s only the results that count, if we go up with a dodgy goal off banjos arse jobs a good un.

There is little room for error. Just hope someone doesn’t over think it. Get the shape to basics and get the attitude front foot orientated.

Do what we have to do and make opponents deal with us, just the odd ‘we knew he would that and they could do this’ in AB’s post match with James. 3 huge away games now and 9 from 9 has to be the aim.

Quite a poor match, but happy with three points however they come at this stage. Fairly sure Beck’s goal wasn’t offside, judging by footage on YouTube.

Plenty still critical of Beck. Is it justified?

As AB has changed the setup IMO Beck has and is improving .. shame his goal was chalked off for offside as he needs to score again to boost his confidence, twas a tight call by the look ov it.

Im just not overly optimistic we have it in us win the title and so twill be the dreaded lottery of the playoffs again thus proving just what a shit stain this league is.

Don’t thinks Beck’s goal was offside but I think the flag was for Denton who was marginally offside when receiving Cal’s long cross field ball to set Beck up.

Fair do, then. What a shame.
