Rooted to his line for the 1st goal. Decided to be decisive on the next cross into the box and completely fluffed the punch. 2nd half came to claim a ball, missed it, but thankfully was cleared off the line.
Distribution was garbage apart from one long kick/pass in the second half.
Sorry not convinced.
Carlisle had a composed confident Goalkeeper and we had Watson. Going from Mahady to this today is a sobering realisation that Watson is 100% with no questions asked isn’t good enough. Every cross came into the box he looked indecisive. To be fair he was a nervous wreck.
People ready this can’t honestly say he’s good enough for a team at this level with any kind of aspirations of going up. Apart from the GK we’re more than a match for anybody, but the ironic thing is the on position we aren’t up to scratch in happens to be the most important one on the pitch.
You can shut up about Campbell too. Watson is a safer pair of hands than Campbell and he himself isn’t good enough.
I’m not just typing this to blindly hound a player for no reason. If we have any aspirations of challenging we need a better goalKeeper. In my opinion something needs to be done about it because we’re top notch in the other 10 positions.
October 4, 2025 at 8:40 pm #311892Yorks goal was identical, why didn’t you blame that keeper?
At least show some consistency daft lad.October 4, 2025 at 8:42 pm #311893Watson isn’t perfect, nor is Campbell, but we haven’t conceded that many. Yet you seem determined to write them off and be seen as right.

October 4, 2025 at 8:49 pm #311897Burny has his agenda set in stone he never changes TBF whatever he bangs on about but it don’t make him right it’s just his opinion which is worth jacks**t to anyone else but him, moving on.
October 4, 2025 at 8:50 pm #311898He was poor at times today but not worthy of the abuse he’s getting
October 4, 2025 at 9:02 pm #311899Yorks goal was identical, why didn’t you blame that keeper?
At least show some consistency daft lad.How was that identical you prat ?. York striker, albeit unmarked headed it into the ground and the ball went near the top corner.
Watson was superglued to his goal line from a corner. How can you even compare the two ?

As your opinion about me having a supposed agenda isn’t worth shit either, works both ways. Every time a cross came into the box I was on edge. He was a bloody death trap. No agenda at play here, I assure you.
He was indecisive and a nervous wreck all game with shite distribution. Me stating that isn’t agenda driven, I’m just simply clarifying what my eyes told me.
No, this isn’t about me hating the club or Butler. Butler has done a great job and has put together a squad way better than I expected. All this is down to is having a GK who is way short of the ability level shown by the other 10 outfield players.
End of. It really is that simple. If you don’t agree then fine. Free world and all that !

October 4, 2025 at 9:36 pm #311904It will always look like an agenda when the same people make the same point after every goal Watson or Campbell concedes. Before the season, it was being said it would risk relegation. It hasn’t, so they can’t be that bad, even if there is room for improvement.
October 4, 2025 at 9:48 pm #311906Watson was poor today. They stuck a player next to him for every corner and he wasn’t strong enough to get to the ball. He has not done much wrong since he has come in but they targeted him from set pieces and he was found wanting

October 4, 2025 at 11:02 pm #311910Always remembering that Carlisle are managed by someone who used to swat goalkeepers for fun!
October 5, 2025 at 12:04 am #3119113rd best defence in the league.
Only conceded 10 goals in 12 games.
Only conceded more than a single goal in just one game – and that was in a 3-2 away win.
We have a budget.
The team is exceeding most people’s expectations.
Let’s celebrate the team’s & AB’s successes.
Nobody is perfect and everyone in every walk of life makes mistakes or perceived mistakes.

October 5, 2025 at 12:05 am #311912Definitely not one of Rory’s best games but he’s not the reason we lost today. This obsessive singling out of the keepers is way past ridiculous and unjustified. We’ve only conceded more than one twice this season. Look at the table. An objective non Iron observer would think some of our fans are losing the plot.

October 5, 2025 at 12:18 am #311914‘Carlisle had a composed confident Goalkeeper’
Apart from the couple of occasions he flapped and looked as out of position as you’ve accused Rory of being.
October 5, 2025 at 12:23 am #311915H Carlisle 0‑1 L
A York 3‑1 W

I’d like a Ferrari (not really)… but I can’t afford one.
AB & the boys are doing brilliantly.

October 5, 2025 at 1:47 am #311917Spot on Wondergoals. Watson has never been and will never be a professional goalkeeper. Abysmal once again. There’s a reason he’s called Dracula.
October 5, 2025 at 10:55 am #311931There is. It’s because impressionable people are suckers for it.
October 5, 2025 at 11:56 am #311932Butler chose to strengthen in the right positions, results so far are proving that.
October 5, 2025 at 1:07 pm #311941I just checked the league table to make sure it hadn’t been published upside down.
We’ve only conceded 10 league goals and one of them was by Mahady against York.Unfortunately I think you’ll find Watson has been and still is a professional keeper and so is Campbell, insane how people will criticise a young 5th tier keeper for not being 100% in every single situation, we all know some things could be better but that goes for every single player. It’s actually embarrassing to read some of the comments.

October 5, 2025 at 2:50 pm #311947Insane it is. Some folk have lost their heads with an obsession. Thankfully it doesn’t appear to be the majority and is mainly confined to the internet

October 7, 2025 at 11:33 am #312034I saw Hartleool play York.
H’pool have a 20 year old GK on loan from Millwall – truly sublime performance by George Evans.October 7, 2025 at 11:47 am #312036But couldn’t stop York claiming all three points.
We did!
October 7, 2025 at 3:24 pm #312044Funnily I spoke to someone today who thinks Watson is a good keeper. He doesn’t use social media at all .I didn’t agree with him as I’m not that convinced by him, neither am I over concerned
October 9, 2025 at 9:48 am #312103did you miss his mistakes on Tuesday?
October 9, 2025 at 11:14 am #312104Can Watson play on Saturday as he is on loan and it’s the FA cup
October 9, 2025 at 11:27 am #312105Pretty sure Rory is on a season long loan so probably yes.
October 9, 2025 at 2:43 pm #312108Heard a rumour it might be extended.
October 10, 2025 at 1:08 pm #312134What has happened to Kian Johnson – I thought he was a last resort ?
