Anyone listen to 606 on radio 5 live will know it is hosted by Robbie Savage on a Sunday evening and i am sure he would appreciate calls/texts from Iron fans, as long as we win on Saturday.
I say Forest Green Rangers, as one caller called his team that.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 22, 2026 at 3:53 pm #315591He might not appreciate it but Chris Sutton will.

January 22, 2026 at 7:14 pm #315595Two of their players attracting interest from SPL & EFL, could be unsettling for them. (I hope)

January 22, 2026 at 7:57 pm #315596They like to play football so might not get on very well with our cabbage patch pitch!
January 23, 2026 at 8:03 am #315599Chris Sutton did have a go at Savage for his ‘ running down the touchline, after Forest Green late equalizer against the iron.
Hoping we will be the ones celebrating.
And sorry for mentioning a late goal conceded.
We have to start like we did against Boreham Wood, and that was without Connor Smith ( on our Cabbage patch pitch).January 23, 2026 at 9:15 am #315600Are we about to to change our nickname from The Iron to The Cabbage Patch Dolls?
January 23, 2026 at 11:33 am #315604Well it’d probably make for better mascots than Scunny and Hunny Bunny!
January 23, 2026 at 12:23 pm #315605Get taken over by Yanks and be renamed the New York Cabbage Patch Dolls.
Sorry wondergoals, not very miserable that.
January 23, 2026 at 12:45 pm #315606F all yanks.

January 23, 2026 at 3:01 pm #315609Is there a YouTube link for tomorrow’s match?
January 23, 2026 at 3:08 pm #315611Given the evening kick off, I would expect it’s on DAZN – checked and it is

I believe it’s just a reaction to a surfeit of the orange faced idiot over the last few days, some yanks are ok.
January 23, 2026 at 4:40 pm #315619Great word, ‘surfeit’. Appears to have roots in Latin, with Old French origins and picked up by Middle English.
January 23, 2026 at 5:24 pm #315621IFA is still here guys not jumped the IRONBRU ship …
Another 5;30 KO really messes up my weekend cultural temple visits but will happily swap a slip n slide for an SUFC happy ending against FGR2-2 is my call
January 23, 2026 at 5:39 pm #315622Is that what you wear in the ‘cultural temple’?

January 24, 2026 at 6:34 pm #315631Sloppy and pedestrian for first 30mins. Definitely a penalty. I’d like to see Smith on second half to run at them
January 24, 2026 at 7:52 pm #315633Great game after that shaky start. Rowley essential and Westbrook instrumental. Subs made a visible difference, fresh legs, up and at em. First time I’ve seen the pitch in the flesh for a few months. Embarrassing. Must make the players anxious about passing low and trying to accelerate through soil and sand.
January 24, 2026 at 8:04 pm #315634Hard fought and we definitely defended less deeply than usual!

January 24, 2026 at 8:34 pm #315636A lot of respect for anyone who staples together their split trousers. High risk strategy.

We must be due a win surely?Nah, beat them home and away 2019/20 season.
January 24, 2026 at 9:23 pm #315640Great entertainment, FG were fast and physical and the ref was rather lenient first half till the pen award. Second half much better from the Iron, FG will point to hitting the woodwork twice and us heading one off our own goal line but we could have notched a couple more from good positions but a great advert for National League football. Chuffed to get the win after working hard to achieve it and we need more games like this at the AA, really enjoyed it.

Should have read “previous 5” or last 5 really. Sorry.
January 25, 2026 at 11:05 am #315667There was a period around 30mins in to first half when there was some audible restlessness around the stadium. At the point we were finally getting a grip on the game, keeping possession and knocking it about. I thought it was excellent play. Too impatient, some supporters.

Yeah, looks a bit better now. All time stats read played 9, 4 wins, 4 defeats, 1 draw.
I see their fans are having a good old moan about the ref giving us a penalty and denying them one.
What goes around comes around eh?
