11am on a Monday morning – 11 hours into a new week and no sign yet of any drama pouring forth from Glanford Park. I want my money back!
April 7, 2025 at 11:17 am #301866More like 11hrs in and no announcement on the new kit manufacturer or why the club online shop is still shut.
And no announcement on why they got rid of merch labs at such short notice and from what we can see by letter and not a face to face meeting.April 7, 2025 at 1:54 pm #301872Note for Michelle.
Please copy Away ego in to every business decision you or other people in the organisation make, preferably before you even think about it so that he can make plans to tell you why it’s crap and you’re wrong ahead of time. I’m sure it’s just common business practise to ask the general public for approval in every confidential decision you make1 user thanked author for this post.

labs soon spread their news not exactly easy to keep people informed if only them that it’s affecting, no fly’s on them when it comes to wanting ticket sales for the spenny game mind different priorities I guess, common courtesy and respect is all that’s required from a so called professional outfit.
Ps. Wouldn’t be a bad idea now and again to run things by the fans they might get things right for once.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 7, 2025 at 2:52 pm #301879When it comes to the club wanting the fans money its all to easy from them to bombard SM with info yet keeping the same fans informed and consulting with them on important operational changes and issues it seems way to difficult and the mushroom effect kicks in .. kept in the dark n fed sh8t.
Its bad form the way the fans found out about the FC XXXXXX “done deal” , Kelme dropped and even the approach from Gateshead for Cal Roberts was kept in the closet until well after it happened.
not seeing the UNITY and transparency touted by Sharp and Aikenhead in the podcast a while ago and this CEO treats the position as a part time side job by the sound of it brought in as the hatchet man.
FC xxxx fiasco
bye bye Merch lab .. Now no online shop
Catering operations changing with the wind
New kit suppler

Pitch Fk UpI really wouldn’t like to be in the Board’s position should we fail to get promotion. They’re likely to receive hostility and abuse if that happens. So many annoyances and distractions this last few weeks, it’s been hard to stay buoyant and focused as a supporter – so how must Andy Butler and the playing staff have felt?

April 7, 2025 at 4:27 pm #301884I agree Apollo11, if we are not promoted this season in my opinion the Board will have a lot to answer for. I do not believe they are focusing on the football, but rather on fun fairs and concerts. Without fans there will be no football club. There is far too much division in the Boardroom and pulling in different directions. The banning of Danny Stamp after previously finishing his Smokin Goat catering, finishing Merch lab, Kelme and now no on-line shop in place. They couldn’t even get our playing surface up to standard, the worst it has ever been. Far too many egos in that Boardroom and not focusing on the main thing, THE FOOTBALL! Let’s hope they will realise and now all four should be putting our SUFC first, all pull in the same direction and help gain promotion. Remember we supporters are the 12th man and showing this with the excellent support we are giving. C’mon you directors get your ct together.

I slightly disagree. I don’t think it’s their job to focus on the football. It’s their job to focus on the business side, and that might mean funfairs and whatever (but with the caveat of ensuring that stuff doesn’t spill over and affect the football). I am presuming what you actually mean is they are behaving with very little regard for the stability of the football side at a crucial point in the season..?
Completely agree with you about the pitch, it’s the worst it has ever been since we’ve been at Glanford Park – and by some considerable distance. It’s a total embarrassment and a massive liability. Without being too explicit about the effects of that terrible surface, I hope the Club does absolutely the decent thing and stands by Ross Barrows for a further year, if he happens to be out of contract in the summer (does anyone know?).
As for ‘all pull in the same direction’, it doesn’t work like that. When there are fundamental differences of opinion in the boardroom the best you can hope for is stalemate and/or an uneasy truce – which never really holds for too long as the type of animal that inhabits a boardroom doesn’t like to be kept on a leash.
I expect even more uproar at SUFC over the summer.
April 7, 2025 at 6:45 pm #301889Cant believe your stance there Apollo you’ve been so adamant that every little drop of money should go to the club for the benefit of the club, and yet your prepared to keep Barrows for a further year.
Cant afford freeloaders no matter what sentiments you might feel for him, so come the who we keep and who we let go we risk keeping Ross and let a perfectly fit guy go nagh.April 7, 2025 at 7:44 pm #301901Cant believe your stance there Apollo you’ve been so adamant that every little drop of money should go to the club for the benefit of the club, and yet your prepared to keep Barrows for a further year.

Also, Barrows is not going to be injured for the entirety of next season.
April 7, 2025 at 8:30 pm #301908Disappointed in club comment “as we approach the business end of the season” !!
At times from game 1 our leadership has squandered so many points. Should not be in this must win all 4 to ensure promotion situation.

April 8, 2025 at 10:27 am #301920Im disappointed in the official Scunthorpe united Facebook site telling us there’s 4 massive games to go!
Maybe tell the manager and the players that, would have been handy to tell them before Saturdays game that there were 5.
Guess with it being sunny they thought it was a pre season friendly and could just go through the motions.April 8, 2025 at 10:38 am #301921Im disappointed in the official Scunthorpe united Facebook site telling us there’s 4 massive games to go!

The highlights package on You Tube suggests we were a bit unlucky – Calum Roberts hit the bar from a free kick, hit the side netting and had one tipped round the post by the Radcliffe keeper. Carlton had a glimpse of a chance which he seemed to fluff, there were a couple of other small moments that could’ve developed into full blown chances. I’d say it was a bad result, but if one or two of our chances go in it doesn’t quite look like the apocalyptic performance some have made out.
April 8, 2025 at 1:10 pm #301925Maybe just take the words of those that actually went to the game instead of relying on a few highlights, plenty of those who went have commented on here and the 2 Facebook sites and they saw a far different game.
Most of the good draws people say we’ve got away from home are fans from fans who didn’t go, the good point we got at Boston last season or so I’m told was piss poor, when a win meant Boston wouldn’t have even made the playoffs and we all know what happened there.
The only one not being fair im afraid is you Apollo.
We weren’t unlucky at Farsley to only score the 2 and not 10 it was piss poor finishing and a great game by their goalie, the Radcliffe game was up there with Southport and Marine away and Alfreton at home to name but a few.April 8, 2025 at 1:17 pm #301926Isn’t It nice to see Brad’s reacting to fans comments and suggestions the club could learn something from it.

Didn’t bother to watch the “highlights” because I was there and there weren’t any.

What I’m saying is, if the effort by Roberts that hit the bar and the one that was tipped round the post go in, it’s a different story. Performance not lauded, of course, but would largely be forgotten. Fine margins.
April 8, 2025 at 5:15 pm #301946Still comes back to the club saying we had 4 massive games left and I said we had 5 but Butler and the players didn’t seem to be aware of it on Saturday.
Like you say we had a couple of near misses big deal, we also had one shot on goal in the second half surely that says it all and you should able to reflect on that alone. -
