Looks like this is the winger Butler was referring to the other day. RB and GK left to sign. I wonder if this is a straight 6 month loan for Chadwick, or whether there is scope there to extend it.
July 14, 2025 at 9:30 pm #306886Thought Chapman was looking like the one to fill this role. Reports seemed to be impressive but guess Butty didn’t see enough or preferred some first team experience.
Hopefully he’ll apply that to the keeper signing too.July 14, 2025 at 11:28 pm #306889a York fan has told me tonight he is a good player, just hope he is right
July 15, 2025 at 12:58 am #306891I hope there is an option there to extend. Chadwick comes fairly highly rated from what I’ve read.

July 15, 2025 at 8:25 am #306900An experienced player for 3 positions so on paper a shrewd move for the next 6 months.
Perhaps Chapman could be signed and loaned down the pyramid for at least 6 months !
The keeper one is more difficult can’t be too young but perhaps they are also looking for a move up a division but more a challenge to Maison to want the shirt. I know Fitz was experienced and now has The Iron keepers season most clean sheets but if I remember right he also made a few errors that cost goals.2 users thanked author for this post.
July 15, 2025 at 9:07 am #306904Who doesn’t?
The clean sheets tell his story more than adequately.4 users thanked author for this post.
July 15, 2025 at 10:08 am #306907Fitz – Most clean sheets in the lowest league, it’s great but I guarantee if Campbell keeps as many clean sheets but drops 6 clangers it’s the clangers we’ll hear about on here and the clean sheets will be “it’s a team effort “. People are panicking way too early.
If Campbell can’t hack it he will be replaced, whether that’s before or during the season he won’t get any mercy in football- he knows that, Butler knows that, Muzzy knows it, the board knows, I don’t know why we can’t support him fully to try and make it.

July 15, 2025 at 10:19 am #306908Anyway, Chadwick looks a good signing.
Up The Iron !July 15, 2025 at 12:28 pm #306911Hope he finds GP to be a house of love.
July 15, 2025 at 1:04 pm #306917I don’t know why we can’t support him fully to try and make it
People want him to do well. Harsh reality is he’s already struggling at the start of this pre season. Looks a bag of nerves and already making too many mistakes.
Fans know what they’re seeing with their own eye. They aren’t stupid. Nothing personal against Campbell, but if we had a striker in pre season who Butler said would be our no 1 striker and he missed 7 open goals, he would be doubted too.
Would he not ?
July 15, 2025 at 1:18 pm #306918‘Fans know what they’re seeing with their own eye’
Aye, and fans, particularly a swath of our online contingent are quick to jump on the blame bandwagon. Admittedly, I haven’t seen him in pre-season friendlies yet, but how many supporters involved in the social media pile-on do you think have actually seen him in those games? Some of you lot have written him off already. What’s that doing for his confidence? No offence, but you’ve hardly got a good track record of being right.

July 15, 2025 at 1:35 pm #306920Nice of the club to straight up lie and try to pull the wool over our eyes with their signing announcement for Billy boy on the OWS…”a consistent starter for Adam Hinshelwood’s promotion chasing side last campaign”.
He started 8 games for York in the NL last season. Consistent starter my arse!

Hmmm! You sure?

Some stupid fans wanted Butler sacking last season, luckily the board aren’t quite as stupid as some of the fans.
July 15, 2025 at 8:31 pm #306933To be fair, if his fascination with 5 at the back continued for much longer, alongside our terrible form, he would have been sacked in all fairness. I’m happy for him. Butler came to his senses with time to spare.
Butler got their in the end, and that’s all that matters.

July 15, 2025 at 8:50 pm #306939The fans weren’t stupid for wanting Butler sacked, they had good reason watching some of the worse displays than any previous scunny teams relegation and reelection seasons included.
List is available if anyone’s forgot them.July 15, 2025 at 9:14 pm #306940The fans weren’t stupid for wanting Butler sacked, they had good reason watching some of the worse displays than any previous scunny teams relegation and reelection seasons included.
List is available if anyone’s forgot them. His brief was to get the Iron promoted and he fulfilled his brief, you and several others jumped the gun with your ” know it all ” philosophy, you were wrong , Butler was right , facts are facts, you could learn a lot by being patient but you won’t do that because your brief is to be a know it all compared to a professional who knows more about the game then you, was it ever thus.

July 16, 2025 at 6:29 am #306963I concede he fulfilled his brief and totally agree with Deerey “it’s all that matters” what was that cesspit of a league.
But obviously On the calling for Butler out because of what I was watching I was always right, and obviously some of us go to watch footy and want different things from it for our own enjoyment because it is supposed to be about enjoyment.
But I will reiterate Butler fulfilled is brief and it’s all that mattered last season and we’ll done Butler for achieving that he as that place in history of our club and rejoice in the fact like I’m sure we all do.July 16, 2025 at 9:01 am #306972‘totally agree with Deerey “it’s all that matters” what was that cesspit of a league.’
It was WG said that. My reaction was due to the irony of his post and also using ‘their’ incorrectly, which I found a little amusing.

July 16, 2025 at 9:24 am #306974Don’t let Awaywego confuse you DM he was answering both you and I in previous posts we had made on this thread, he’s basically covering his arse about being right about Butler fulfilling his brief but having the right to say Butler should have been sacked earlier in the season when things were not going aswell after the good start we had. My point was he should have shown more patience and kept stum about rushing in with his sack Butler comments and his knowledge of the game compared to a full time professional is on a different level, as is the rest of us. You can’t have it both ways IMO you can’t always have your cake and eat it as my old fella used to say, people should exercise more tolerance and in the case of young Campbell I don’t want him driven into a darker place mentally because of what certain posters are saying about him. We won’t have the same impact in the coming season on the NL as we did on NLN last season but everyone should get behind Butler and his team and give them all a chance.
July 16, 2025 at 9:39 am #306975Anyway, back to Chadwick. I see the lad scored the winner on his debut last night. Well done to him!
At the start of the year folk on here were complaining about Butler being uber-defensive by playing five across the back. Now they are saying we are light in defence with an inexperienced goalkeeper.
On the flip side we have an attacking lineup of Whitehall, Roberts, Beck, Carlton, Howe, Chadwick, Eze, Beestin and Dawson. Are they going to complain that he is being too attack minded now?
Whilst I certainly agree that we need to bring in another keeper and a right back I don’t envisage the shit-show that some seem to be predicting.

July 16, 2025 at 10:16 am #306978There’s barely any posts about the new attacking drive, which seems to be bearing fruit and setting us up well.
July 16, 2025 at 11:11 am #306980I see Beck knocked it down into Roberts path for the first goal, no mention of that from the anti Beck brigade either, guess it luckily hit his head and fell luckily into Roberts path, lol.

You didn’t need to be an expert to see what was going on. A large number of fans on all platforms could see 5 at the back wasn’t working. Our results for for a while were awful and we were playing poorly.
As I said above, Butler came to his senses and sorted it out and got their in the end.
I don’t get why your questioning what was in front of every fans eyes.
Ring up club shop and get your Butler Badge sent through the post. Get it over and done with.

July 16, 2025 at 12:22 pm #306992Beck was also at fault in the first place for their first goal on Saturday but the anti Beck brigade kept quite.
I would take twenty assists and 6/7 goals from him this season, almost achieving cult status imo more in a humerus way though, we can all hear the ironic cheers if and when he does score again and the reception he’ll get from the players not forgetting the cries of banjo, banjo, banjo, (japanese army stile) arms raised in glory me and the grandkids been waiting to long for for.
I love him for everything he brings good and bad.July 16, 2025 at 12:27 pm #306995I see Beck knocked it down into Roberts path for the first goal, no mention of that from the anti Beck brigade either, guess it luckily hit his head and fell luckily into Roberts path, lol.
Where did you “see” this? Because that’s not what happened at all, was a 1 yard pass with his foot, ball didn’t touch his head. Lol.

Did he play the ball with his arm?
