November 1, 2025 at 9:25 am #312659Safe journey to the travelling Iron faithful at Blackpool today, let’s hope the boys give a good account of themselves at higher league opposition UTI.
November 1, 2025 at 9:36 am #312660One of our ‘bogey’ teams.
They’ve won their previous five R1 FA Cup ties – we’ve lost our previous four.
Bookies have 1-1 as the shortest scorecast.
Their place ain’t a particularly happy hunting ground for us.
They appointed Ian Evatt on Monday 20th October and they enjoyed the new manager bounce last week with a 2-1 win at bottom club Peterborough.
They sit 2nd bottom of the league and needed to win last weekend to leapfrog their hosts and demote them to 24th & last place. If we’ve got our strongest team available, then we could make things difficult for them… particularly if they view the game as a distraction and would prefer to try and survive relegation?
However, you’d think that a new manager in situ would want to prove himself?
Difficult one to call.
Heart 0-1 Iron
Gut 2-1 Blackpool
Head 1-1 … who knows with pens?November 1, 2025 at 9:38 am #312661Safe journey to the travelling Iron faithful at Blackpool today, let’s hope the boys give a good account of themselves at higher league opposition UTI.
Safe journey guys (inc gals) and sing your hearts out as normal.
Their fans fear they will be outsung!

Difficult one to call. Will their priority be avoiding relegation?
Is our priority pushing for promotion?
Difficult to call certainly!!November 1, 2025 at 11:58 am #312665They sit 2nd bottom of the league and needed to win last weekend to leapfrog their hosts and demote them to 24th & last place. Difficult to call certainly!!One thing is for certain… neither will win the cup.
However, a run to the third round would be great for our club and the town… I guess a good run for a L1 club would be to reach R4?
As long as it’s a good, fairly refereed game and we give a decent account of ourselves then we shouldn’t grumble.
It’s a pity that there ain’t any replays these days :-(

Hope there’s no injuries and we can give Rochdale a run for their money next week.
