Iron Bru › Forums › Blast Furnace › Billy Sharp’s seven pointers for Promotion
An article in 442 (probably not read by our management team as they prefer the rival publication Five at the Back) Billy Sharp lists 7 essential factors he feels need to be present at a club to achieve promotion:
1. Consistent Goal-Scoring and Leadership in Attack
2. Clear Objectives and Mindset
3. Managerial Stability and Strong Squad Culture
4. Momentum and Strong Late-Season Form
5. Experience and Mental Resilience
6. Overcoming Past Play-Off Disappointment
7. Supporter Culture and Vision for Sustainability
Irrespective of your views on Billy Sharp, where do you think we are in terms of these factors this season?
Reserve opinion as I do feel that some are affected by whether the Fan is tolerated or involved.
Just think we have slipped back a bit. But each to own.
One thing missing from BS’s GPT-like assessment, and that’s luck.
Nothing about needing a midfield general and world class keeper I see
Is Loyalty one of them?
I agree, I think those two are also essential.
Pointless question. Sharp’s as thick as cheap mince.
Unkind.
I can see him on Mastermind:
Your name?
Billy Sharp.
Occupation?
Professional footballer.
And your chosen subject?
The bleeding obvious!

Why would any team need a world class keeper if they already have two goalkeepers such as Campbell and Watson ?
Exactly

Exactly my thoughts .. you dont have to be in Mensa to work out all the points Billy raised are basically just common sense.
I’d have him back tomorrow, he would have scored a bag full at NLN and we would have been champions.
