So….Proctor recalled by Rotherham and shipped straight out to Fylde.
Ward told not to bother us again and that his deal won’t be renewed.
Hammill (more of a winger) and Olomola in exile
    Wootton sold

By my count that leaves us with 2 strikers. Van Veen and McAtee. Will we ever get to see them play together though?

Bongo & Mick. The new comedy double act. Excellent chaps!

Proctor no miss IMHO. Ward another naughty boy expelled from school.

Both were brought in on Hurst’s watch but barely used. Curious!

    Novak?

I usually respect your views Mick, but to suggest Novak as a striker is testing your resolve too far.

Marathon runner, road runner, headless chicken yes, but a striker not now, probably a few years ago, but please do us a favour Mick.

he is classed as one Barton, but anyone who plays up front on their own is on a hiding to nothing, if you want to play anybody as a lone striker you need someone built like Jon Parkin.

In years to come most fans will say “can’t remember Jamie Proctor “.
    Completely different with Jamie Ward.
All you will have to say is “the little bloke who passed to KVV when he scored the goal that beat the Cods at Blunder Park”.
Fans will say oh yes I remember him now!

My blade friend told me when we signed him that Ward was a ‘sicknote waiting to happen’.

Didn’t Hurst say that a lack of fitness had restricted Wards game time availability? I’m guessing that even on the bench he probably wasn’t always 100% fit but was there making up numbers due to lack of choice elsewhere in the managers opinion.

So was he unfit when we signed him or a victim of these, all too frequent, ‘training’ injuries that we seem to suffer from?

Cass I don’t know but Hurst mentioned these thing regarding fitness and Ward was only offered a short term deal in the first place so perhaps that might help answer some of the points you raise. Either way he is gone and the club needs to move on to something different.
