All those Butler out people on here take note, the grass isn’t usually greener .MUFC sacked their manager and got worse .Now they’re employing a caretaker until they get a caretaker.Id take our settled approach any day
January 5, 2026 at 4:00 pm #315018Read one comment on the BBC sport website by people invited to offer an opinion but it was a more general view on Premiership clubs, it read “ owned by crooks, run by clowns, played by mercenary millionaires “. Made me chuckle but how close to the truth is it, I certainly don’t blame the players for taking the stupid money they get offered to play in that setup, you’d be crazy turning it down and like I always say it’s always about the money not this badge kissing crap some of them come out with on MOTD. No sympathy for Man U or any other big club falling flat on their a@@e again, money and stupidity has ruined the game at the top end IMO, grounds might be full but how many genuine fans get rinsed or dumped as a result?

January 5, 2026 at 4:29 pm #315022Took Butler 4 or 5 months to realise he didn’t have the players to play his preferred formation. Amorim never did. Feel for the ordinary folks that shell out a massive amount of money each week to watch their club being mismanaged by idiots but you can’t help but laugh at the idiots themselves.
January 5, 2026 at 4:33 pm #315023Silly season is here again now that the transfer window is open.
Celtic, Man Utd, Chelsea. Who’s next? Spurs? Liverpool?
Their sense of entitlement is staggering!
January 5, 2026 at 4:40 pm #315024And many on here enable it through buying the Sky,Tnt, Dazn packages, Which brings it on to. “Respect and greed” the TV company and the inflexible FA f ing over fans.
No respect yesterday when a fan died at the Leeds man u game was the game wasn’t called off I wonder why, wouldn’t be because Sky were televising the game would it.
The same for the fan that died at the Charlton v Portsmouth I highlighted twas a tv game and through the fa rules won’t allow games that are televised go beyond the 3 o’clock watershed
Fans paid handsomely to travel and watch that game that was called of before 2pm in our capital only to be shafted again.
Anyone who buys into these TV packages is helping kill the game especially for lower league clubs shame on anyone who does.January 5, 2026 at 4:50 pm #315025No respect yesterday when a fan died at the Leeds man u game was the game wasn’t called off I wonder why, wouldn’t be because Sky were televising the game would it.
Apologies for pedantry, but Leeds v Man U was broadcast by TNT.
Sky did, however, broadcast the Fulham v Liverpool game, which was delayed for a similar incident, despite your misgivings about their influence on the game.

January 5, 2026 at 5:59 pm #315026Delayed yes postponed no. The man didn’t die in the ground so twas only a medical emergency just the same as at Fulham.
Charlton could have done the same on whichever TV station it was on.January 6, 2026 at 12:33 pm #315036Some of us have no other option but to subscribe to matches if we wish to continue to follow our team.
The £90 DAZN annual subscription has allowed me to watch many games already this season and a percentage of that goes to the Club (but I’m not sure how much?). UTI1 user thanked author for this post.
January 6, 2026 at 1:16 pm #315039The AA for me now is a 700 mile round trip. As advancing years take their toll that is no longer viable so DAZN good for me too.
January 6, 2026 at 2:31 pm #315040Well I guess everyone doesn’t have morals on the subject.
Not particularly slagging you off by the way, shall I say we all have different morals on a whole breadth of subjects.January 6, 2026 at 3:05 pm #315041Or in other words Awaywego we are all victims of human nature, if victims is the right word but you know what I mean.

January 6, 2026 at 4:22 pm #315044There’s nothing morally wrong with subscribing to view Iron matches on the only platform available, particularly those not close to the town, and bearing in mind a percentage goes back to the club. Subscribing to watch Premier league matches is a different matter IMO

January 6, 2026 at 4:23 pm #315045I reckon more watch a dodgy box
January 6, 2026 at 4:45 pm #315050Whatever your take is on pay to view sport it has nothing to do with why Amorim, Maresca or Nancy have been given their P45.
January 6, 2026 at 4:50 pm #315052I was only trying to pot out that sacking a manager doesn’t always get you what you want,it was a dig too
January 6, 2026 at 4:57 pm #315053Course there’s something morally wrong with it Deerey, but then again your not the one getting up at 4.30am to be able to catch the bus to Woking for a 12.30 kickoff because of TV.
Our agreement with Dazn is far worse than Sky or TNT at least the clubs themselves get well renumerated, even if they’re f ING the fans over with moving game times and even days as per Sky and TNT
Sacking our last manager got us what we wanted 64 and his sacking was supported by you.January 6, 2026 at 5:07 pm #315056it didn’t get what you wanted, you wanted this one sacking because you were crying about “Jimmy”. The old manager was part of the most hideous regime at GP ever and had to go and I’d wager you would still love him to go
January 6, 2026 at 5:09 pm #315057I reckon more watch a dodgy box
A dodgy stick I believe these days. Approximately 5 million in the UK have one.
January 6, 2026 at 5:45 pm #315061I wasn’t crying about Jimmy going, I wanted him gone after the 4-0 darlo defeat.
Wrong man again 64, just like accusing me of posting on the scunny Facebook site when all along you were. Never mind.January 7, 2026 at 12:00 am #315072it didn’t get what you wanted, you wanted this one sacking because you were crying about “Jimmy”. You can tell he’s a Jimmy fanboy when he picked me out to ask how he was doing at Spalding with his team of Ex Football League players.
With Yanited doing so badly he’s got to lash out somewhere.
January 7, 2026 at 2:02 pm #315103I didn’t pick you out asking about how he was doing at Spalding because I’m a fanboy.
I asked you cos of your gloating when the results and league table weren’t good what was it 4 posts.
Then nothing, obviously didn’t fit your agenda was trying to put across and now your trying to deflect.
Was I a supporter of him when he came in, you bet I was had I seen enough by the darlo game you bet I had, Iron-awe supported him longer than me and there’s still nothing wrong in that. Many didn’t want him sacked and still theres nothing wrong in that.
What is wrong now is you not being prepared to see Jimmy’s doing good at Spalding at the moment.January 7, 2026 at 4:02 pm #315114Probably because I don’t get the results and I follow all the social feeds like the Peterborough Telegraph what with working in Peterborough.
Anyway he’s not won anything in this league yet if he does what NLS? -
