I’ve lectured on minor industrial buildings like windmills and water mills and when you think about the technology it’s still there to be harnessed.
A sixteenth century water mill near us had the wheel replaced by a turbine in the early 20th century to generate electricity.
In the past every town and village had at least one. Smaller units would have minimal environmental impact. Certainly less than the reservoirs that flooded whole valleys and entailed the moving of whole communities that were built in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Tide & wave power? Absolutely! So why not?
Probably not as headline grabbing as electric cars!
