I am not sure who Starmer is trying to appeal to. He seems to be trying to cater for all sides, with gestures for the young, more idealistic, former Corbyn fans with promises to keep manifesto pledges and strong social justice ties and an image of restructuring Labour from the cliquey movement style Labour of Corbyn for the more pragmatic.
He needs to soon stand for something. He doesn’t want a fight with the Corbyn fanatics, so will continue in this weird imbalance where it’s all about unity when many don’t want it. The “Keith” crowd will never like him and the rest will only be alienated by such weak leadership.
