Shall we also look carefully at how many cross themselves and hold their hands up to heaven when they come out onto the pitch? Or who drop down onto their knees and touch the ground with their forehead?
Or who thanks “God” for helping them win, like the Liverpool keeper did last week after his Jimmy Glass moment?
I’ll ask again for the umpteenth time (though I never get an answer) – if you don’t agree with taking the knee what should footballers do instead to draw attention to the ongoing incidents of racism and hatred?
1. No. Last time I checked religion wasn’t political, nor was it banned by FIFA etc.
2. Nothing. Perhaps they should do their jobs for which they are highly paid, and leave politics for their private lives.
