Noah’s flood was necessary because humanity was full of sin and debauchery!
So it isn’t now, then? Why haven’t we had another one since? Is Covid God’s way of getting rid of the debauched?
Noah’s Ark – going on the dimensions given in Genesis it’s capacity was a little over 39,000 m2. A low estimate would calculate 3 million different species on Earth (remember evolution doesn’t exist). So that’s two of each plus Noah’s family making over six million to fit into 39,000 m2 of space.
Each creature had 6.5 mm2 of space to move around in. Just let that sink in for a minute.
40 days of rain. On Hawaii in 1939/40 it rained for 331 days! You don’t believe in climate change but you think 40 days of rain will destroy all life on the planet? Have a word with yourself. Was Noah the only bloke on Earth who had a boat? No! Fairy Story.
Historians are unanimous in the view that Jesus Christ was a historic person.
Not quite unanimous. The historical truth behind the Jesus character is similar to that of our own King Arthur. He was supposed to live in the 6th Century but does not appear in historical accounts or literature until the 9th Century. The Arthurian legends have been rewritten a number of times with certain omissions and additions. Much like the Gospels. You could say exactly the same about Robin Hood. First written about over a century later. I’d sooner follow the teachings of those two any day!
And even if Jesus was a living person the back-story is much, much older. At least 3,000 years older. Back to the Babylonian god Nimrod and the Egyptian Horus, who was born of a virgin under a star in the east. He walked on water, healed the sick, restored sight, was crucified but rose from the dead! The same basic story holds true for the Indian god Krishna, Dionysus and Mithras who was popular with the Roman legionaries on Hadrian’s Wall.
As I said the other day, Christianity is just a software update and the Bible is like a software license. Christians don’t read it all, they just scroll down to the end and click on “accept”!
What is sin?
There’s no such thing as sin. People do good things and bad things but it is not “sin” in a religious sense.
That’s a myth. The concept of sin is a recruitment process to get you to join an organisation that will have control over your actions.
Leaders of this organisation and fellow believers will tell you that you have an imaginary problem and, coincidentally, they just happen to have a magical cure for it!
It may involve prayer. Do you pray BJ & BPG?
Brilliant! And worthy of publication! It’s posts like this that remind me we’re not all mad on IB!
