I mentioned earlier that if NI believes Bill is one very sad individual for needing a book to tell him how to live his life then his view must be the same for the millions with other religious beliefs, such as Muslims.
Yep! All religions. I bear no prejudice. So I guess by your twisted logic that makes me anti-Semitic as well. Oh Lordy, Lordy!
All religion is man-made. If one single deity was the originator there would be no diversity. All religious texts would have come from the same source. If God really existed there would be only one religion.
Think about it. Take as long as you like.
What you are doing of course is classic gaslighting. Turning me into some kind of monster because I’m an atheist and question why any sane person would choose to live their life from religious texts written 1,500+ years ago by mortal men.
It’s the same as when someone offers their views on why an act of terrorism has been committed. They are immediately labelled as some sort of pariah who “loves the terrorists and hates this country”. It’s the methods the Big J character uses on here to demonise the “woke” generation.
My argument is that if you find it feasible to get your blueprint for living from these texts instead of observing what is around you here and now then you’re not living in the real world.
If an omniscient, omnipotent perfect being was the architect of the Bible then why does it only reflect the culture, science, literature, technology, morals and values of the place and time it was written? A relatively small area in Eastern Mediterranean during a period of around 4,000 years? Why would any god create a whole galaxy and only bother about those who inhabit 0.000000000000000000015% of its area for 0.00004% of its history? Because it’s nonsense that’s why!
Why would anyone choose take their morals from a book that includes stonings, torture, murder, burnings, slavery, bigotry, rape, homophobia and misogyny?
And if anyone is offended, then good! You need to be. You need to wake up and smell the atrocities committed in the name of religion.
I’ll look elsewhere for my “design for life” thank you.
